  • That’s an interesting insight into human behavior that I never thought of.

I remember a long time ago, I was at Boston South Station with my then-girlfriend. We were looking at a monitor on the wall trying to spot when our train home would come in, and I pointed at it to show her.

A nearby homeless woman then informed me that it’s unpolite to point. That always stuck with me. She was standing right in front of the screen…but now I know, I should’ve used two fingers.

Not surprising Schneider would have Drakes back. Drake was his cash cow. This occurred between the Amanda Show and Drake and Josh, and Peck got arrested during the latter’s run. Bell was Schneider’s bottom bitch, Peck overstepped.

Now that I know what I’ve read, I wouldn’t be surprised if Schneider is the left, but he still gives me some vibes.

Instructions unclear. I’m going to the moon on Delta IX.

(Edit: my dumbass just realized it’s ∆V, as in velocity. I thought Delta 5 was the name of a type of chemical propellant. Though now that I think of it, it really should be. Damn, and I work for a space company too. At least I’m just in IT).

  • Not only that, but managing wifi channel congestion in a dorm is a pita.

It’s tough enough when you fully control the airspace, to have nice clean coverage and overlapping cells.

But then add dozens or hundreds of individually managed APs in a tiny space…with DFS and/or 160MHz channel widths?

Ops best bet is to get their own 5g home internet and plug in.

You’ll be hard pressed to get a router to talk to a captive portal sign in…but if OP wants to get creative, this can easily be fixed with a dumb switch and a Linux PC with two NICs. You could use windows for this, but why would you?

  • I’d been meaning to try out atomic distros. I’m not an expert on Linux by any means but I’ve been using it on-and-off for about 25 years, and exclusively (at home, at least) for about 7. So I’m a bit more than a noob.

I do worry if I’d feel restricted inside of an atomic distro. Might throw kininite on a laptop I’ve been meaning to give to my kid, tho.

The link is pretty interesting. Apparently a lot of eating disorders can be related to ADHD…namely BED, anorexia, and bulimia.

With BED, supposedly it’s about instant gratification. That’s likely why a lot of people binge on a specific type of food…like sweets or saltys. Some of it can even be an OCD behavior.

I do wish it was given nearly the same attention as the other eating disorders. It wasn’t even until a couple of years ago that I heard of it and the specific markers (like eating well past being full, or binging in secret). But most people have never heard of it because “har har fat person”.

This is also why I believe obesity should often be handled as a symptom of mental distress, not something that exists in a vacuum.

I’ve been on Adderall and Vyvanse for ADHD and binge eating disorder.

The Vyvanse helps a ton with the binges. My doc had suggested I try Concerta if I’m having a hard time finding Vyvanse this month. I was able to find Vyvanse but I had no idea appetite suppression could be so much in the Concerta. Probably way easier than finding/taking any of those fashionable diet injectables. And generic Vyvanse still gets on backorder…

Maybe I’ll bring up trying that next time.
