    This is not stupid it is an example of malicious compliance.

    The people in charge of launching the nukes didn’t want a code system getting in the way, getting lost, slowing things down. They were comfortable with the secured missile silo base, the armed guards, the several meters of reenforced concrete, the launch keys, the two key rules, and the quick reaction force if any of the above should be challenged

    However a code was deemed a requirement by another bureaucracy. Fine… Fine… We will use a code, and all zeros was born
