I get what you mean, but the fediverse will likely never overcome state powers and reach. They have so much money, talent, and infrastructure to push propaganda.
The reality is people will have to use US tech and socials to expose Chinese/Russian/North Korean/Iranian atrocities and vice versa
Unfortunately that’s currently the only way to gain any real ground.
You can already see how western allied social media and mainstream news tried to hide Israel’s genocide under the rug. And you’ll see how Chinese tech companies try to hide their Uyghur genocide and such.
They’re only amplified because they’re pushed by companies of geopolitical rivals.
