The development team has announced that it is “saying goodbye to Sora” and will provide more details soon.

Good. Image generation has no ethical purpose. It either displaces jobs to funnel more money to megacorps, or it’s used in harassment and manipulation campaigns.
LLMs as they are right now are not ethically trained, used or deployed, but they have a good use as a natural language processor and can be done ethically without ruining the environment, endangering people’s livelihood, funneling money upwards and being self hosted.
