I have that on my pop os cosmic? I’ve only used it for texting but it’s worked fine for me
I don’t think the desktop enviroment affects compatibility at all, I’m very sure it’s mostly just integration and it looking pretty. except stuff that’s part of the DE. Also, sorry for answering to a week old comment i didn’t check until now that I’m editing.
True it’s not the best looking ui, but gets the job done
