It doesn’t seem like Sony is backing down on its decision to end production of physical media by 2028 any time soon.

Prove the point that if a system is digital consumers prefer to do it on hardware that is open and can be assembled from parts you choose, run any programs you want, and run any OS you want?

Versus locked down hardware that doesn’t let you install competing storefronts, programs, and is able to implement paid multiplayer because the hardware ia so locked down?

Mate, I’m a PC gamer as well, so you’re preaching to the choir. I just don’t really get how Sony saying they are stopping physical game production because gamers don’t need it, then responding to that by… getting rid of your physical games makes any sense.

Just saying moving away from Sony to PC doesn’t prove Sony’s point, since they are removing physical knowing people will stay on their consoles and buy their digital games.

Last thing they want is for people to move to PC, since they went as far as to discontinue future exclusives there. They don’t care about digital games on PC. Just digital for their console.

The point I was referring to was that physical media is dead/not important any more.
