USB charging is the worst example ever. Ever ever.
It took the EU something like 15 years and several laughable attempts until they somehow made it.
USB-C is only like 10 years old, and widespread availability has been within maybe the last 5 years. I think it’s fine they waited, enforcing a brand new and unproven technology would have been a bad idea.
That’s why I generalized my answer to USB and not only USB-C.
