Microsoft’s Redmond headquarters has become the point of intense employee protests, fueled by reports that the company’s Azure cloud platform and artificial intelligence (AI) technologies are being used by the ‘Israeli’ military for mass surveillance and AI-driven targeting of Palestinians in Gaza and the West Bank.
The protests, led by a group called “No Azure for Apartheid,” began with a Tuesday encampment of approximately 50 people who established what they called a “Martyred Palestinian Children’s Plaza”.
These people are really brave.
Someone else said it and I’m stealing it: these people are brave AF. They’re going to be struggling to find work for the rest of their lives.
At least they will live knowing that they did the right thing in the eyes of evil. I doubt they will remain without work tho, MSFT in their CV will still weight a lot, and as the world is becoming more and more antizio, they will eventually find a good place among non assholes and nazi collaborators.
antizio
i never heard this and i’m stealing it now. lol
antizionism is having a moment right now because the ruling class accidentally left a gap open with tiktok and the rest of social media; they’s since then plugged that gap by forcing tiktok to sell and forcing reddit/facebook/etc. to hire idf moderation so i suspect that our antizionism moment is going to pass.
I’m sceptical because a lot of companies (and Microsoft) rely on Linux particularly for servers. Also, there are a few companies out there (not Google though) that must surely have some sanity, and even some respect for people who speak their voice in the workplace. Might not be as well paid but you say jobs.
… Might not be as well paid but you say jobs.
this is the key.
avoiding genocide enablers and fascists is going to keep you out of high paying social circles that microsoft is a big part of. doing so required me to take a 66% pay cut and others will have to do something similar if they want to hold onto their values.
Besides the megacorps not many companies will remember this in the future.
i suspect that i was on a blacklist for using an employment lawyer against my faang company in the past since i had to move to the other side of the country to get potential employers to even respond to my applications.
this was years before radio silence became a de facto standard like it is now.
