I downloaded it from Aurora Store. I know I can download it from Github through Obtainium but I always run into problems if I use that method. Is FFF private like DDG?

Everyone suggesting forks like librewolf or whatever are missing the most important point… all these forks are downstream… so if you kill firefox, you kill all the downstream forks (unless someone willing to do the heavy lifting and work full time on one of the forks)
If people are willing to kill firefox over some stupid features the can be opt-out, then you are cutting your nose to spite your face (and hand it over to google/chrome)
firefox is literally the only thing stopping/slowing google/chrome total control of internet standards
I’d rather Mozilla ask for donations than to give me ads and bloatware. I’d be more than happy to donate periodically. If they don’t correct the current course, I’m not sure for how much longer they’ll keep loyal users like me. I’m sick of having to turn a bunch of things off every time, and of having to be vigilant about the new crap they keep introducing.
I’ve also seen it said by people who know more about this kind of thing than i do that because they’re relatively rare forks like librewolf actually make identifying individual users easier than if you were using vanilla Firefox

It is much more than this. Browsers are massive projects that require a full team of developers working full time to patch out security vulnerabilities. Let alone work on new features.
Firefox apparently has 21 million lines of code. I feel stress just knowing that something this monstrously complicated exists on my computer. I can’t imagine what it must be like to maintain it.

Most of these mental backflips are not worth noting. I will remind you that despite giving Mozilla plenty of walking-around data, they took Pocket away anyways, which was the simplest way to share articles to a Kobo and likely other ereaders. I will have my revenge, Mozilla
Firefox Focus is more of a quick search, you can’t open another tab/window type of browser, hence Focus. As soon as you close it, FF will automatically delete everything. Think of it as disposable, one-time use search and browser. I use it on my phone.
If you’re looking for a browser with privacy features that you can use everyday and customize like DuckDuckGo, then maybe you should consider IronFox. I sometimes use it on my tablet; I like to separate work from personal stuff.
DuckDuckGo is what I use when I want to watch something on YouTube, it has Duck Player.

Well, you can open another tab, by opening a link in another tab. ;-) But otherwise you are right. I use it too…
You can definitely open other tabs. And your tabs and cookies will stay there until you explicitly remove the app from memory or restart your phone.

Why not use ironfox?
FFF is basically just a dedicated incognito FF with privacy settings maxed out: no history, no persistent cache, tracking settings set to max, no persisent cookies etc. I am not sure what you’re asking about related to DDG, that’s a search engine.
Duckduckgo offers a dedicated browser which is likely what OP is referring to.

webview is the one embedded with your os, it could be outdated etc. it’s just not better than running a hardened chromium browser like cromite then.
Right, I still don’t understand how it relates to privacy though unless either it makes either fingerprinting easier (which I imagine could be limited if the UserAgent can be changed) or that the OS itself leaks information back, but at this point it wouldn’t matter anyway if you don’t trust the OS, so can you please explain specifically what information would be leaked and how, again as opposed to an independent engine being used?
