OG Doom and some random WADs.
Bruh, a new color dropped before GTA 6??
That’s a bit unnecessary. I’m just pointing out people are trying to compare two things that aren’t the same.
By that logic though, I think Nintendo has a “dumb cock” for charging as much as they are for Switch 2, so I’m not really sure what it tastes like.
I see a lot of people ragging on the switch and comparing it to the Steam Deck. I own both but
I’m gonna say this: they’re not even direct competitors. They don’t offer the same experiences at all.
The beauty of the Switch is the ease of use, modularity of control, and communal nature of it. Even if switch online sucks, playing with other switches or 8 people in the same room with certain games is unbelievably easy. The plug and play usability and every single game you can buy from the internal store just works.
Not to mention the dock is flawless and literally easy to use. For all its problems, the switch is a surprisingly well executed idea. There’s a reason they sold hundreds of millions of them.
Steam is catching up, but there’s still a ways to go between proton compatible games, connecting controllers, plugging into a dock without having to bend down and plug a cable etc. The Switch is simply put: easy.
That said, Nintendo is stupid for pricing the Switch 2 out of the “no brainer” casual gamer territory.
While you’re not literally wrong adjusting for inflation, their “value proposition” is a bit out the window. It’s so close in price to comparable tech, it seems like a much more serious purchase. Nintendo hit it right with the Wii and the Switch by pricing competitively low. The Switch 2 should follow the same value quotient to be a runaway success. This is effectively what killed the Wii U. The Switch 2 could be destined to follow the same fate.
Even the mental trickery of “$399” would be more effective than “$449” for Nintendo in the long run. They have to question whether that $50 is worth losing marketshare. I think if they are keeping the game prices and (potentially) the cost of services like online higher than the entry point of buying the system should be lower.
That pricing is really putting Nintendo out of its core market. The reason the Switch was an absolute smash is because it was and remained accessibly priced. The fact they’re charging $450 is really putting them out of the “hey that’s not too bad” audience. This is a wildly bad move on their part.
Forums are where I learned literally everything about technology I know now. Every hack, jailbreak, method of bypassing something, building, literally anything I’ve done around my tech hobbies. Pi hole, emulation in the late 90s, how to use Photoshop, how to run Linux from a USB, everything I’ve learned from forums. I’m sad to think that me joining certain discords help deliver the death knell to the concept of forums.
How do you skip sign in? That’s the single worst feature in windows.
I’d say Super Mario Bros. Single handedly revived the video game industry. He’s more recognizable than Bugs Bunny, Mickey Mouse, and Winnie the Pooh.
Crypto. I didn’t spent a ton, but I didn’t make a ton either. I’m net up now but it’s so stupid.
I made 2K on Doge a few years ago, but ever since I’m just sitting on it. It’s not a loss unless you sell.
I love that this is possible. I wonder if something is possible for Project 06. I’ve heard it fixes a lot of the game and makes it playable. Dunno if they can help with the story though.
Microsoft needs to merge their ecosystems and make the Xbox a PC Game console for your tv. I shouldn’t own 2 different units that have Microsoft operating systems that can’t use the same software in 2025. Xboxes should be PCs that run Xbox games. Make a forked version of Windows that’s TV friendly and have the ability to “boot” into a version of Windows that users can run their own PC games on.
I understand how tricky that can be for piracy and whatnot, but there’s gotta be a better way by now. At the very least, Xbox should include Steam/Epic games integration.
As a New Yorker, I apologize for how they hurt you. I promise the NY beer experience is rich and inviting.
American here:
There’s a LOT of bad American beer, but to say ALL is just plain dumb. The micro brewery boom made a lot of small breweries pop up and about 90% had no idea what they were doing so yea a lot of them are kinda garbage.
I personally know micro brewers in NY who studied their ass off to make some incredible beers that I would put right up there with Westies and Cantillon.
One of the best beers I’ve ever had is from a Gypsy brewer in NY called Cantina Cantina. The guy used to work in my local distributor, then went to work for our favorite local brewer Barrier, then took his expertise to Greenport Brewery and turned around their whole operation, then started brewing his own absolute masterpieces.
My point is the best of the best is probably going to be buried deep under a pile of garbage beers cause they’re usually obsessed with making art and don’t focus on getting their name out there.
The actual hot take is that most of these movies are actually pretty good in the context of their correlation to source materials. As critically acclaimed movies: debatable; but as an adaptation? Unbelievably they tie a really neat rope around a hodge podge of different ideas and oddly make it work.
The truly hot take is that these movies serve there purpose well and do a great job being a vehicle for the story in the comics (sometimes)
Dark Souls remastered taught me how to look at life differently. I now accept failure as part of the process of growing, not something that should be avoided at all costs.
Also it taught me how to parry like a G.
It absolutely does not work for everyone and every situation. However, I now see the value and merit of you just turn it on and it does the thing. In a lot of cases, there’s minimal resistance because its designed to give minimal resistance. It seems a bit limiting, but some of that design is to minimize user confusion and error, especially for lay people.
When I started to lose the things that made android great I switched to iphone. Now that Windows is really starting to turn to a shit sandwhich, I’ll probably switch to Mac fully.
They may have (slightly) walled gardens, but they are very seamlessly integrated with each other.
Fair, but I haven’t edited movies in a few years and never got a chance to use Davinci. Either way, Macs are generally good with media.
Logic. Final cut. Those are the two best reasons for MacOS. Everything else is FINE and I’ll generally agree, but windows is dogshit when it comes to editing media especially when there’s any kind of I/O device attached.
I have steam on my Mac mini and its generally fine. Sure it doesn’t play everything, but it can run plenty of games just fine. But I also own a steam deck and windows 10 PC so I’m a bad example.
I have a 16 GB Mac mini and logic is perfect. Pro tools was garbage on my windows PC.
Final cut is infinitely better than any windows video editing software.
It’s looking like we’re doing a China again.
Companies are dumping tons of money and putting their vital resources in the UAE cause it’s cheaper and/or they can get away with murder.
This will not end well and we will end up creating a new super power nation cause capitalists hate the poor so much here that they will risk the nations standing to make an extra buck.
