I think even with Librewolf you need to open the about:config page and disable browser.ml settings.

+1 - Break out that hammer!

I can get to the phone data with Nemo. It’s just flakey. I’ve used Dolphin, but when comparing then the look of Nemo seemed to win. In practice, having nemo bomb out every other day is frustrating. I’ll take a peek at Hnome files. Thanks for the suggestion!
And I do enjoy the command line plugin(?) for Nemo. It is handy for sure (it provides a command prompt that follows along wherever you cd to. Maybe enabling some of the plugins is causing the instability with Nemo….

Thanks! I did see a couple of tools like KDEC, but my main system is wired only. I suppose I could pop in a WiFi card and give that a whirl. If I can do some of those things that’d be nice. To move a file from Signal off my phone I had to use VLC. It worked, but yeesh.
Appreciate the input!

The only two issues I have at the moment are that Nemo is not a reliable file browser. It crashes almost daily. Some of its behavior is also frustrating when I go up a directory and it reshuffles my view and loses where I was. I deal with copious files and directories so this can be painful sometimes. Maybe need to play with Dolphin more or find another manager. Open to suggestions. I miss the expected behavior of the file manager in windows, but I don’t miss windows at all.
That second issue is not having an easy method to manage my iPhone with Linux. Pulling images is awkward and always requires fiddling. No iTunes of course for backup and updates. I don’t like OTA updates. So I keep a W10 VM (with no route out) for that stuff.
Otherwise, Linux works for everything else perfectly fine.
Edit: Mint btw. I do love how Linux makes the OS a tool for me rather than a tool for them.

Hey…ummm, can we be friends?

A word of caution: If you use bitlocker (copy your keys!), it can have hooks in the TPM/bios settings.
Disable bitlocker prior to attempting a live boot.
It will lock your disk if you don’t prepare for it.

Haven’t heard Red Dragon referenced in a very long time. Loved that game.

Some tvs will attempt to connect with another and use its internet link if available. Samsung tries this.

Evidence of what exactly? Was a crime previously committed? Was it the officer’s “instincts” that told them so? This is the fun part of authoritarianism, there may have been zero evidence deleted (we don’t know), but now the act of wiping it creates a crime they can charge someone with. Bake him away, toys!

I have never seen these. Thanks for mentioning them. I use a bunch of nvidia shield boxes and they are getting older by the day. Seeking alternatives and I like the looks of these. They do state they are not Netflix certified, but what does that mean? Will it work and they just don’t guarantee it? I’d say half the shield’s duty is Netflix and the other half is streaming from a nas. I use a separate pc w/FF for youtoob for the ad blocking. Would love to distill down to one box and this looks very nice. Thanks again!

Dune HD?

There’s no way. Two tons of flapjacks would need an aircraft flying at an altitude where the pancakes would disperse wide enough that I’d receive a significant pelting, but would not die. You’ve absolutely lost your mind! 😬

There is no sarcasm here. You are right. They’d love that.
Thank you friend, and congrats to you too! Yes, the anger triggered some self-reflection. “Nobody is going to make you lose weight or work out. You need to do this yourself!” Understanding and owning the responsibility of being your own advocate with regards to one’s health is important. It sounds obvious, but many shirk this responsibility. Though I don’t want to generalize too much, we all have our battles.
I did lose about 50lbs, but there’s always a bounce back when you try and normalize your diet and lifestyle. Nothing to be surprised at. Shedding 10 off would be better for me right now, so I suppose I need to get angry again! Just in time for the holidays! 😳
It’s how I lost 30lbs. It finally motivated me.

I’ve been using Balena Etcher, but now I have an alternative, thanks!

Good to know and thanks for mentioning it, but it is odd that this happens if nothing is done to the host’s hardware. Did you ever discover the why of it?
find and copy your keys
A good piece of advice regardless of what one is doing. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard that keys weren’t found in someone’s account.
Edit to add: It appears bitlocker has hooks in the TPM/bios settings as well. Disable bitlocker prior to attempting a live boot.
