Not to be annoying, but can someone please ELI5 how kernel level anti-cheat software actually works, or link good resources where I can read about it.

I really think it all boils down to the regressive thought prison that permeates religious culture, and anything that is adjacent to it. Asmongold himself has stated on many occasions that he was raised in a Roman Catholic environment even though he personally rebelled against it.
However, when everyone you are around in society still uses the same flawed logic pathways, lacks critical thinking skills, and perpetuates the hegemonic in-group dynamics that surround that religious world-view you are still personally psychologically affected by it even if you don’t subscribe to the religious component of it.
That’s the even more nefarious, pernicious, and hidden damage caused by promulgating religious culture is that it makes being willfully ignorant not only permissable, but REQUIRED in order to conform to the group identity. I can see how that influence has literally broken his brain in ways he appears to not even be consciously aware of yet.
We’ll see if this wakes him up, or drives him further into his echo-chamber in an attempt to avoid the painful process of overcoming cognitive dissonance. Only time will tell, but I will admit the deck is stacked against him when he has such a massive financial incentive to resist developing a more mature, nuanced worldview.
Personally I think he actually wants to be a decent person deep down, but the environment he built for himself has led to a self-reinforcing manifestation of the macro-scale social problems that are plaguing young men in this generation. For that reason I don’t hate Asmongold because I believe he is still reachable, and has the opportunity to have a moral arc that could potentially help a lot of people if he was willing to do the work of real self-actualization.
I think I’m good on that, but you do you m8.
I wanted to use 4chan
I am relatively confident that you are one of the first people to ever type that sentence out.
Oh man, I swear I saw the weight from a Kusarigama. I have been waiting with baited breath for another game to deploy my favorite weapon from Nioh. I’m extremely hyped for this. I hope they introduce some more RPG-ish elements too.
Even if they learned exactly like humans do, like so fucking what, right!? Humans have to pay EXORBITANT fees for higher education in this country. Arguing that your bot gets socialized education before the people do is fucking absurd.
I think you mean teXas 😂
This is my number one pick as well. Just keep it the fuck away from Disney.
I was just thinking about Splinter Cell the other day. It’s crazy how every single third person game turned into a “souls-like”. It seems like we used to get such better diversity in game genres.
Don’t forget Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic 3.
I don’t think that will work. I’ve had this same thought, but there just isn’t anybody in the public lexicon who fits the bill.
How would that even be against the rules? Pointing out an old guy might die is the epitome of “no shit Sherlock” posting.
Conventional brick and mortar retail is extremely expensive to maintain. It has less to do with Amazon specifically, and more to do with the rise of online retail & direct to consumer business models more generally. Don’t get me wrong, Amazon was a huge pioneer in that area, but it would have happened one way or another.
Again, it was an extreme hypothetical. There were multiple people in this thread who outright suggested that as an option, which is why I asked the question.
Regarding your first paragraph: I was operating based on a very loose hypothetical question that you posed. So, I think you’re unintentionally strawmanning me here a little bit…
As far as the second paragraph is concerned I see your point. However, I specifically said life had to consume other organic material to survive, but not necessarily kill in the process. At some level of the food chain it does ultimately become a necessity though, and I do not see that as an ethical dilemma per se.
People can complain about the system and try to make it better without having all of the answers.
I totally agree, and I’m fine with that.
Imagine if there was a life form stronger or smarter than humans, what would you want to say to it? “Life only comes from death so eat me or abuse me”. We can and should do better.
As far as we know the propagation of life requires the consumption of other life as inputs, or in other words every single living thing on this planet must consume material from other organic life to subsist.
Therefore, in your hypothetical I would expect that any life form that required the domestication and industrial consumption of sentient life-forms or their byproducts as a matter of survival to absolutely do so regardless of the ethical implications. If it was a matter of survival, we would become an input. Absolutely zero question about it.
You have just described how every evangelical infantalizes “God’s” will. These are learned psychological frameworks that are being copy pasted between different control vectors at will at this point.
I am serious when I say there is no conceivable way to deprogram and reprogram the vast majority of them. The goal needs to be a total social and economic embargo. Completely exclude them from our lives in any way possible.
