Classic billionaire were pushing for low tax, and low gouvernement spending, so they don’t give their money to the government. Musk is more the banana republic type billionaire, who is in favour of high taxes and government spending going in his pocket. As easy as it
Note that, at least for people using mbins, _ upvotes are public_ and while downvotes are hidden (Which is weird IMO), instance admins, and people who know how to use lemmy’s software API, can access them.

Not posting pay walled content Ignore it for everyone, even people having access to it
Posting it people without access can still follow the discussion, and some are quite important news

Many of us have access to pay walled media, so why block it for everyone?
reducing sales, therefore tanking Tesla shares.
The Tesla share is so much on a bubble, that the 60% drop in sales didn’t impact the share value at all. Between people not wanting to give their money to Musk, BYD attacking the EU/US market, and every brand offering some electric car this tendency will stay, I don’t see how Tesla is worth 20 times more than Toyota.
It’s a pitty that it’s so controversial to vandalize SUV but vandalizeing a Tesla is seen as fine. Tesla aren’t great for the climate either, but compared to SUV they’re way better.
This is IMO a risk for many individual owned fediverse instance. Someone has a domain, at a point other admin take over, and the domain owner doesn’t renew no matter whether they forget because real life happens or due to some Drama.
Very few instances have a clear legal organizational (like a non profit club) running, which is more flexible when founders step out
Not sure why you get downvoted.
Culture fit, is what makes a team holds together. And it’s different in banking or in a R&D company.
That said, what is your role during the interview. Culture fit is more for the HR and manager and less for the expert conducting the technical part of the interview.
Indeed, Lemmy tends to have fewer but more engaged users. Which is weird at first. Can’t wait for the moment we’ll stop seeing known faces

While we do Drama about [Insert open source developper name here] we have open and closeted nazi owning social media and big software companies. So I think we should better focus on them than on whatever Drama in the FOSS world
Not sure whether the video that get share out of TikTok are the ones average user make. For many it’s just fun filters, big music library and a way to share video with friends. I doubt teenager randomly dancing on a music, or sharing pics of their horse-riding lessons try to make money on-it.
I really doubt that average TikTok (or instagram, or youtube) aims at monetizing video. It’s a way to share photo and video more than a way to make money. but I may be wrong.
First question, why would we want monetization? people do amateur theatre, short movies for fun, volunteer do coach kids sport for fun so the whole society doesn’t have to be commercial, and even Wikipedia is mostly ran by volunteers.
I mean sure, federated instance and some authors may get government grant for culture (which would be better spend than for commercial movies, or all the government money spent in AI) but not monetizing won’t prevent people from contributing
