  • This. Like ten years ago, when Samsungs had swappable batteries, they were super proud of it. They would advertise it as a feature that Apple doesn’t have.

When I was at a festival, Samsung had an activation where you could tweet at them with your phone model and location and they would send someone with a full battery to trade you for yours. It was an amazing free service that I used so many times, and every time, the jealousy on the faces of all the iPhone people was palpable. Then one year, they quietly removed the swappability from their new phones.

Swappable batteries are such a huge feature that most people don’t even know that they want.

  • I had that dog as my interviewer too, but I made the wrong decision.

When I got the to interview, I immediately remindend him that when I saw him on the street, I said “Sorry I can’t feed you, I have a job interview so that I can get food. You should pull yourself up by your own bootstraps and get an interview so you too can get some food.” And he said “Yes, I took your advice and arrived here first and got the job you were going to interview for, so you’re fired.”

  • 99% of people are, but just think about that for a second.

In all civilized societies, sex is a normal thing that occurs regularly, and violence and gore is much much rarer and very traumatic to most people. The vast majority of parents had sex to make their children, yet watching actors simulate sex with our parents or children is much more uncomfortable than watching actors simulate violence. It’s really bizarre when you divorce it from our normal hang-ups.
