Yup, absolutely agree. I have so many hours in ONI, in Factorio, in STS, that I’d happily pay more (and in a sense I have since I’ve bought STS multiple times)

$100 is probably still cheaper than I paid for N64 games with inflation.

I don’t find GTA very interesting, it’s like a gimmick of a game that gets old very fast to me, so i definitely wouldn’t spend anything on it let alone $100.

It’s sad, I noticed this too. I excitedly clicked a Hank Green video about energy and water usage on datacenters and was SUPER disappointed in it. I’ve worked in energy generation as an engineer for a while, and some of the takes in that video were so obviously big tech’s doomerism rhetoric

For the price, the deck is smaller, quieter, and reasonably spec’d. Plus instead of doing drivers and stuff myself, it’s done for me. And we have a warranty. Great deal for our teeeeeny desks

I had a really sweet situation where I didn’t pay for healthcare. With almost any other situation in the US I’m sure it would’ve been net cheaper here

American who moved to Denmark (though I haven’t yet studied here at university, just language schools).

It would work in the US just fine, except that it wouldn’t funnel money from 18 year old kids taking out loans to rich people’s pockets.

My overall tax burden is only a little higher (3.5-4%) than it was in the US. And for that I get healthcare, university, significantly better working conditions and QoL all around, and a society I’m proud of instead of ashamed of.

Big recommend, though I don’t consider the language easy
