What does game preservation have to do with right to repair? I support both, but if people don’t care about preserving games, latching it onto the right to repair movement is just going to drag it down for no reason.

Tbh it’s not as bad as I was expecting. Those clips could definitely have resulted in an accident, but the system seems to actually work most of the time. I wonder if it couldn’t be augmented with lidar at this point to make it more reliable? A live stress test is ridiculously irresponsible and will definitely kill people, but at least it’s only Texans at risk (for now).
I was skeptical of the idea of robotaxis, but this kind of sold me on it. If they’re cheaper than human drivers, I might even be able to get rid of my car some day. It doesn’t change the fact that I’ll never get into one because the CEO is a nazi though.
Anyone know why the Signal app isn’t available on F-Droid? Isn’t it supposed to be open source?
I tried cricket protein bars once and they made me shit like a horse. The chitin is not separated from the protein, and it is a LOT of fiber.
Throw Musk in prison for his many documented crimes, but don’t support this kind of dictator shit.
The only movie that legit made me cry was Seven Pounds with Will Smith. I only saw it once, and I tried real goddamn hard to suppress the tears, but a few leaked out. Luckily, none of the people I watched it with noticed, so my masculinity remained in-tact.
I’m asking as I’m trying to understand empathy and whether it’s normal to get so invested in fake characters,
Fuck yeah it is. It’s a beautiful thing to be so moved by something that it brings you to tears (especially art). It’s what makes us human: we’re not just mindless beasts trying to eat and fuck, we’re experiencing life to its fullest.
I’m drunk as fuck rn but the pub I went to had some bomb ass olives that tasted kind of like corn, and now I regret not asking what they were called.

Packaging desktop apps via deb (or other system package managers) is obsolete and should be frowned upon.
cue the angry comments from cranky old people

Didn’t the Trump admin suspend enforcement of foreign anti-bribery laws? Microsoft just has to write a check to the right person to kill this.

The problem is education. People know how to use Windows/Microsoft products, and are too lazy to learn anything else. Saying “that other thing sucks” is easier than admitting “Idk how to use that other thing, and I’m too lazy to learn”, especially in a corporate environment where you can’t climb ladders by acknowledging your own shortcomings.
Get LibreOffice/Nextcloud/etc into schools, and the problem will be solved in a single generation.

This is why grammar is important, and “grammar nazis” are the only good kind of nazis.

I used Java years ago for Android dev, but stopped when I stopped doing that. Every once in a while I’ll get the itch to work on a new project, and always wonder if Java would be a good idea.
My hesitance is that I don’t trust Oracle (and don’t know to what extent they’re involved nowadays), I’m not familiar enough with the ecosystem to know what is legacy crap to avoid, and I think it’s generally seen as an uncool language, and I’m way too cool to be taking such risks.
Sublime Text + sometimes LSP is all you need. It might be difficult for people who don’t know how to use a build system directly, but those people are underachievers anyways.
I think it went like this:
So you see, it’s just another example of the kind of tragedies that can befall society when sarcasm isn’t clearly labeled on the internet.

No, seriously.
This is statistically impossible, unless “IT guy” just means “computer nerd” rather than someone who works in an IT role.
Slightly OT, but what do you call people who role play as dragons/reptiles/etc? “Furries” seems inaccurate, but it’s the first term that comes to mind when I see art like this.
Cheaper? Yes. Better? Hell no, unless you can root it and install a custom ROM.
