Our people are too brave.
I’m Alireza Alavi, a software engineer by trade.

I’ll get over it if they split the money to all the projects that they depend on.
Arch, curl, ffmpeg, and every tiny thing that needs more funding.

For cost you also have to count the hardware expenses

It’s silly.
You can just put a normal sock/cloth on them for that.
And the flock guys will just simply remove it and you have spent money on making that fancy cover. You can straight up smash it with the same shovel/stick that it shows in the video instead of dressing it up.

This is too peaceful. Use destructive methods

You can mininize them in their own workspace ( or keep them open in their own workspace) and you will get notifications for them still.

Is it really that important?
what’s your usecase for it?
Hey, use a tiling wm like sway/i3 to prevent getting arthritic.
I’m actually writing a blog post about how to be more healthy and prevent things like arthritis using a good software setup.
They aren’t legally allowed to advertised and sell. Having them installed and selling them is a crime. (China, Iran, many other countries)

RIP.
Much respect to these selfless volunteers spending their life making everybody’s better.
going around government censorship, being safer from being tracked

I think it’s obfuscation for security.

The thing is. Have you tried closing and reconnecting to sessions on wezterm/tmux? Infinitely harder.
Also tmux can be everywhere, including servers. I have it on all my beefy servers. And the sessions keep open. You basically can’t do this with wezterm/kitty. Simply at least.
Latency is basically a non-issue for me. It’s nothing noticable for me.

I use i3 and still use Tmux and wezterm.
The benefits are:
so overall, a tiling wm isn’t really a replacement for multiplexers if you’re doing heavy tasks like programming
And the only reason I use wezterm is because it’s the only terminal that supports BiDi/RTL text somewhat. Otherwise, Tmux is the best

2036, to be percise. And that is the officially supported time for the ULTS kernel. You can use older kernels for such old hardware

Use an ultra long support kernel like 6.12

The terrible defaults can be fixed in less than 100 lines.
Hell, they can just copy my config

99% of people won’t need anything other than Tmux.
I only use Wezterm because it supports RTL and BiDi languages.
“banning” it will just make it “the cool forbidden thing”
