Dead Space scared me so much it made me numb to lot of horror games since.

When I emulated Metal Gear Solid 3 my PS3 controller came in clutch with the pressure sensitive face buttons.
If they do that and Xbox aren’t idiots and take advantage of the high PS6 pricing that could lead to another PS3 early gen fiasco that takes years into the generation to catch up.
I wish they had an official Linux client since while heroic launcher works for downloading syncing saves can be buggy and it would be nice to get achievements.
Consequence of what you are proposing is that companies with economies of sale or are willing to operate at a loss due to other sections of the corporation being their main source of profitable revenue would be only ones left. Ironically ensuring higher barriers to entry than there already is. The 10% is more realistic for key resellers than those trying to launch a profitable mainstream platform hosting and distributing everything as opposed to side project that can lose money.
The CD Projekt-owned PC gaming storefront GOG just released a “facts and figures” breakdown of 2022 in an official blog post. The upshot? GOG experienced steady growth in its user base and library while also turning a tidy $1.2 million profit. It’s a heartening turnaround to see as the service actually lost money—$1.15 million to be exact—the previous year.

The cut GOG takes is 30%. Epic operates at a loss and is more a side project they are willing to lose money on, since Fortnite and Unreal is there real money.

GOG also started to limit cloud storage per game to 200 MB
As the size and number of games increase, so does the demand for Cloud Storage. These limits ensure that all players have access to sufficient and manageable space for their game progress, and that we keep the associated costs under control. By optimizing our storage allocation, we aim to continue providing a reliable and user-friendly platform for everyone.
Check isthereanydeals for deals on steam keys that aren’t gray market and lower than Steam. How do they get around it? Well it seems to more apply to retail price and not sales price.
People’s first impression of it was Metro Exodus being pulled from Steam close to launch and becoming exclusive to Epic despite even physical copies having the Steam logo.

Turned out people don’t really like a company going out of its way to try and remove purchasing options from consumers for third party titles. This not only affected steam but releases on GOG too.
A lot of people requested that DARQ be made available on GOG. I was happy to work with GOG to bring the game to their platform. I wish the Epic Store would allow indie games to be sold there non-exclusively, as they do with larger, still unreleased games (Cyberpunk 2077), so players can enjoy what they want: a choice.
Yeah been keeping eye on it and they’ve been making good progress with some of the story being playable already.
I want Crew 1 offline more than the others because it has an actual single player campaign.
Not like console gamers were ever given a choice, but PC gamers kept wanting PC ports for more frames over the 30 fps standard. Graphics were already good during the PS4 era and PS5 is still crutching so hard on PS4 games during their PS5 pro showcasing. Now console users wanting the same after finally getting the option over a decade later I think shows they aren’t too different from PC gamers in loving frames.
I considered getting a dualsense before for pcgaming, but the stick issues pushed me away when other alternatives have hall effect sticks and grip buttons without paying the price of the dualsense edge.
No idea but I’ve had it come and go since I’ve had my Steam Deck. I tried doing a fresh install to get rid of it but nothing worked so just dealt with it by exiting the game and relaunching it when it occurred.
I’ve used this plugin for several months and haven’t had the static audio issue from suspend happen ever since.
Yeah has happened to Alan Wake. Now they decided to just remove the song to hopefully not have to be delisted again.
I’m glad Rockstar is taking the route of trying to only get songs that they won’t have to remove down the line. Should be the move forward for all games. Wish same would happen for racing games too. Would rather have knock off brands over delistings.
I’m tired of games getting songs removed, so I am actually glad Rockstar and hopefully others are going the route of trying to only get songs that won’t end up having to be removed down the line. Not cool getting an update getting a song removed.
When you post a comment it shows up whether it is a new or old account instead of having to meet some karma requirement. Also third party apps are very nice over being pushed to use some bloated ad filled official app.
It’s also that they put out a product I actually find value from like Linux support, Steam Input, forums, workshop, etc. I enjoy using Steam because I find it to be a good experience.
It’s like reasons people prefer Android or Apple even if they share the same apps. Really can’t discount the experience simple things like navigation and social features do to add value. Those who dismiss it as unimportant probably share the same views as some MBA who only looks at the numbers and think they can just enter and corner a market through brute force spending.
In a way it like trying to enter the smartphone market and paying for app exclusives then ignoring the part about polishing the OS experience as much as possible and putting out something that is from the flip phone era.
Epic store not being profitable and despite the backing of Fortnite and Unreal Engine surplas being at the state that it is shows that it is probably much more expensive than expected to make a feature rich launcher. What epic has is more a glorified storefront like humble bundle or Fanatical but worse because it isn’t even selling keys for the platform of your choice, and they have to handle server costs of storing all the games too.
I hope some mods come out that allows it to be skippable for single player games. I wonder what this means for the future of Playstation games on GOG, since Sony had been releasing games there.
