When I worked retail, someone came in, complaint there was there no disk in the case (PlayStation 3 or something), exchanged that thing with no further questions.

I was taught a lot, especially common sense. I can troubleshoot and diagnose like a madman, even things I know very little about. But my dad wasn’t a talker, so didn’t get much there.
I talk to my kid about everything, we lookup what we don’t know or want to know more about. I go over mistakes I made in life giving him examples of how to not make the same mistakes and save himself the time and trouble.
We call everything “experience”, even bad things, and we learn from them, not unlike skill points and experience points in video games. You can learn from anything, not just good things.

I have Zorin os on my main laptop and actively migrating my main desktop. Will try to get my kids desktop to Zorin too, his was my test subject and it crashed and burned. Everyday I see more and more issues and performance drops with client computers on win11. One or two I’d chalk up to user errors, but now brand new devices I deploy with 32gb of ram struggling to connect to and RDP connection. Fuck windows 11 and all the AI horseshit.
