  • Talking with my psychologist about this and admittedly it’s not easy because finding a tool that works for you individually is the hard part.

For me running does it but if I can’t run what do I do? We are working on body scanning which helps a bit. Slow down and distract your mind. I’m going to start reading again for example.

What you need to work in understanding is as I put it theres two competing voices in my head and the self sabotage is there because, and it’s fucked up, it’s a way of protecting yourself. You need to acknowledge it but also tell it when it’s not the time or place

  • CPP is mandated to make a set return for the Canadian people and it’s pretty loose on now they do that. I agree it’s concerning them looking at morally questionable companies but money wants to make money and I would argue Canadians care more about having money for their retirement than they do the companies they’re investing in.

Case in point since Trump 45 we should have been collectively divesting in America yes we haven’t. American companies even hostile ones still have a huge economic edge. I expect the CPP to be pragmatic and not invest based on their morals all the time. That makes for bad finances. Sucks but sadly this is the world.

  • Look I’m 48 and I get it. I get the Russian level paranoia about people accessing my data. What you’ll find is there are a lot of people that are aware and genuinely don’t give a shit.

We are old enough to know that if you want privacy don’t use technology.

Jesus Christ just yesterday I had to tell my oldest to watch what he says because he mentioned Luigi wasn’t wrong. I told him I agree but I explained they’re all listening and pointed to the alexa, the TV, his phone, his laptop.

Privacy is a farce. You can make it harder which I’m all for but if someone wants the data they can get it. You have secrets keep them to yourself. That is privacy.

Anyways, rant from someone with 25 years in Corporate IT. It’s all theatre.

  • And cars were worse for physical health yet here we are.

I suspect you may be part of the crowd I’m addressing this to but progress is progress and you can’t uninvent shit and you can’t predict adoption.

As it stands “AI” is here to stay and no movement of luddites is going to change that. Globally “we” are saying it’s valuable.

What we are lacking right now is control over the speed and direction.

Going back to the car analogy this is why licenses exist, and registration, and laws. This too will come with AI only when the problem becomes so big or so dangerous to necessitate it. I suspect we will be there soon. Youth unemployment is fucked everywhere and only getting worse.
