I have this problem. Actually, I love it, but can understand those who don’t.
This is my favorite meme on the topic.
Ive never heard of anyone with that perspective before, can I ask why you love it?
I’m blessed with a unique and related middle name (see username), which allows me to really identify with the holiday. I’m always around family on my birthday, and I never have to work.
For me, I loved it because my combined gifts were much nicer than the gifts for one or the other
As an adult, I don’t care about presents and can decide not to invite any family members, I do not care to see to my birthday because I already met them during Christmas
As a kid, I got one big, very cool present instead of two smaller ok ones
If its really a problem consider celebrating your name day instead, or just move your birthday into the summer and tell everybody you did it because of the weather.
The first suggestion is not a common thing at all. But the second is reasonable, I had a friend growing up born on Dec 26th so she celebrated her half-birthday instead.
I have a summer birthday, so usually all my friends are gone, and it’s a family only event. But we did a few years where we celebrated my half birthday, which I really appreciated as it meant I got to have a big traditional party.
No move it to [some month] and say ours because the movie release schedule is better. Also develop an interest in cinema
I have a birthday on December 2# and this echoes a conversation I had almost every year of my childhood
