Mathematician is teaching a class. He writes something on the board. “Of course, this should be obvious.”

Then he looks at it again, pales, and runs out of the class room.

He’s back the next week for the class. “I was correct. It is obvious.”

And then Martin proceeds to write a long article to the local tabloid about how Prevalent Serious Scientist literally believes in Santa Claus.

Genuinely how I feel sometimes. Like, I’ll usually just say yes, so that we can move on, but I have made the joke “How would I know?” quite a lot of times already, because it’s much closer to the truth…
