All freedom of speech means is that it isn’t a crime to say things (with some exceptions such as plotting violence, which can and will get you thrown in jail). It doesn’t mean it won’t land you in hot water otherwise - such as getting the attention of the FBI.
You have freedom of speech, just not freedom after speech.

Wouldn’t that apply anywhere? Even in North Korea you’re physically able to say whatever you want. What happens after is the problem.
