That’s not unlike criticizing some national cuisine lol. From the surface, yeah, most of them share these several characterizing aspects to them, but you’d die several times before finding an end to a discussion concerning things like pizza.

Evidence that curling existed in Scotland in the early 16th century includes a curling stone inscribed with the date 1511 found (along with another bearing the date 1551) when an old pond was drained at Dunblane, Scotland. The world’s oldest curling stone and the world’s oldest football are now kept in the same museum (the Stirling Smith Art Gallery and Museum) in Stirling. The first written reference to a contest using stones on ice coming from the records of Paisley Abbey, Renfrewshire, in February 1541. Two paintings, “Winter Landscape with a Bird Trap” and “The Hunters in the Snow” (both dated 1565) by Pieter Bruegel the Elder, depict Flemish peasants curling.

I did not have fun reading it. Thanks for ruining my day.

if reading that ruined your day, i feel like it might be fun to read about your day. What did you do today? (or what did the day do to you?)

I was having a great day, the sun was shining, I felt great and was about to find a cure against cancer. While I was at 95% of making a break through I thought why not have a well deserved little break. So there was me sitting outside in the sun, having a cup of freshly pressed orange juice I read this story. It was a sharp and fast drive to rock bottom. After crippling depression has rendered me unable to keep up further with the daily struggles of life, my wife decided to leave me. My 3 children looked me straight into the eyes and told me that I have failed them, not only as a father but as a human. My neighbour started clapping. After I got a notice on Teams that I was layed off as a direct consequence, I was just unable to continue my work on the cancer antidote. It was then that my landlord had informed me that I have another 5 minutes to clear out the apartment, after that the utility guys are coming, exchanging the lock and throwing everything away they still find.

I was sitting outside in the snow that started to turn into mud while it rained. I called my parents in hope that I could maybe get some shelter there, but unfortunately they both died from severe disgrace after I explained them what happened.

This good damn story, why did I read it, I should’ve known better, I should have seen how awful fucking long it was going to be to tell a simple joke with endless of unnecessary details. Who is the real victim in this story? Is it the dog? The car owner? Or is it the reader that wasted his time at best and got kicked into a spiral of misery at worst.

Lindsey Vonn is going to slide a very high speeds with one titanium knee and a torn ACL on the other…at 41. Absolute insanity.

I mean, why not? It’s probably not as if she’s got some other more important future event to heal up for.

            (INB4 she un-retires again for 2030.)

The potential danger in the bobsleigh events makes it way more thrilling to watch than anything in the summer olympics.

I don’t think you want number 2. I’m pretty sure video still exists of the luge athlete who went off the track in Vancouver and that was a bad time.
