I think it would be good for the community and people in the US to have ways to make sure they’re not creating relationships with ICE agents. If the community doesn’t want it all good. and obviously not meant to profile people.
- Obviously we know some names of agents who have murdered people: Jonathan Ross, Brian Palacios, Jesus Ochoa, Raymundo Gutierrez
- I presume they’d be pretty conservative and machismo. Maybe have some blue lives stickers on their truck.
- Maybe tattoos, specifically Punisher. Could be police also.
What else could you use to sniff out if somebody is ICE if they’re hiding it from you?

This is generally why I don’t like this social isolation of conservatives. It leads then to extremes. You don’t need to date them, but you can be friends with them.
A lot of them were raised in cults (I was). After I got out, I housed this guy who was hard right, but talked with him, cleaned his guns with him and now he’s doing better. He was just traumatized from a hard childhood.
And honestly, shooting guns, riding 4 wheelers and other conservative things are fun.
Would you agree though that there is a qualitative difference here? Platonically befriending a person and having an intimate, probably sexual relationship with a person are two different scenarios. And the question was about dating in particular. I’ll have a much easier time trying to humor a person I don’t share a bed with. People tend to not take one for the team to get them over their misogyny.
Yeah, that’s why I suggested it. The guy I housed softened, left the military and now just works in a hospital. Had we not befriended him, he’d probably be ICE now.
Also I wouldn’t call it humoring. Just actually being his friend. He’s human too and it’s not his fault he was raised in a shitty environment. He was never show any alternative way to live
