Personally I think it looks outstanding and I haven’t been this hyped for a game in a long time.

Waiting for the reviews. It’s that simple. If it is even good, I am sure to play it as I love Open world Action- Adventure games. But, I am really hoping it is more Witcher 3 and less AC Valhalla.

Every single video I’ve seen, every single article I’ve read screams overhyped bullshit. The game looks extremely bland, shallow and generic to me. Sure it has nicely polished visuals but apart from that? Nothing.

How can you judge the game to be bland, shallow and generic? I think people are judging too early too much. Just wait and see.

To me there are lot of elements that reminds me Zelda Tears of the Kingdom. The several last times I was hyped for a game was either a disappointment at best or a disaster. Just wait until game comes out. There is not much to think about the game.

Broken promises, p2w, uses a lot of f2p manipulations.

The only hope is that I think CD is supposed to be a single player experience? (At least that was the rumor many many years ago) So they may not fuck it as badly… But it wouldn’t surprise me in the slightest.

They already commented that the game will not have microtransactions (at least on launch, who knows what happens later…). You buy the game fully and that’s it.

Yeah and refer to #1. BDO was buy to play with only cosmetics and small QoL buffs when I first purchased a founders pack in beta…

But hey, I’d be happy to be wrong.

The game is single player game, not like their previous multiplayer game. It’s entirely possible they pull an Activision-ass-move, where they released games on launch without microtransactions to get good reviews and then added them shortly after. I am not arguing this could not happen. On the other side, there are good stories too. In example Star Wars Jedi Fallen Order from E.A. never had microtransactions.

I had a chance to play it at an event last year. Maybe things have improved in the interim, but I’ve never played a game with a more obtuse control scheme in my life.

    Who puts jump on square??

I’m willing to give any control scheme a chance. The first time I ever played Dark Souls, or Monster Hunter Tri, both of those felt obtuse. Now they both feel like home.

You can most likely customize the controls. So that is not really a critique in my opinion.

Maybe. Though it might still be difficult with the number of button combos (basically a different function for each pair of face buttons you press at the same time).

Gameplay-wise it feels more like a fighting game than something like Dark Souls, it’s built around combos. I’m sure it’ll be fun for many, and like I said things could even be different than when I tried it a year ago, but for now I’m gonna wait and see what reviews say after launch, maybe wait for a sale if I’m still on the fence.

To be fair, when I hear people screaming: “It’s too good to be true!”, or: “It has so much we have never seen in AAA!”, etc., on the contrary, we did. It’s taking features already defined in other games and assembled here all together.

I agree - some games are alluring for their unique style, some for recognisability and comfort. Plus, normally I don’t like too much of a departure from realistic physics in favour of fun factor, like being a damage sponge or tilting and boosting a horse in a different direction, but as a whole this definitely looks great to play. Even has breakable structures that crush enemies, it reminds me of ‘Pursuit Breakers’ in Need for Speed Most Wanted

Indifferent to it. It looks nice but I’ll wait until reviews and early impressions before deciding to play it.

It looks pretty nice but definitely has the potential to be a bloated mess with how many things are crammed into it.

I like games where I can really customize my character. This is why I was not wild about the witcher. This seems the same to me so its likely not my bag of tea. Now granted when I played elden ring I was sure I was going to abandon it and its one of the few I finally finished along with cyberpunk. Although with that it was beause it seemed so insanely hard.
