well over if they had a trubo button at ten. I would estimate upper forties like 47 but could be a bit younger. Under 45 and they were using some old stuff which would be wierd since that game system at 5 does not look atari. looks like an snes which would then make them 30 or so. I feel like lcd was gaining traction late oughts though which goes back to about 40.

Well the claim is since its being done on your host all good but honestly I don’t want it in it. Not just bloat but because it becomes something that is always going to have to keep an eye for if its talking afield. Its getting like windows. Heck I allowed firefox telemetry before but turning it off now.

this does not make me happier. I can turn it off but if im going to run a local llm I rather do that as its own piece of software. Its funny because I have mentioned I would like to see a linux operating system using a local llm where its acting a bit like the change from text based to gui based operating systems. I don’t want every piece of software operating a local llm to do its job or a part of its job on my computer. Its great I can turn it off but I don’t want to be downloading an llm model with every piece of software and just turn it off for my browser and my office suite and anything else im running. Its actually worse with the browser that already has taken over so much of the application space as a kind of universal tool.

If your talking full degrees im not sure I would have gotten one if I had been ten years younger even after high school. The cost/return is iffy. Certs and associates still seem like they can be worth it and if you can get a free ride well then yeah. I don’t think general age matters as much as financial situation.

I could not disagree more. a browser is a local piece of software to me that I use to connect to a variety of servers. It having an ai server its communicating with all the time and with access outside the add on system is not something I want. I have looked at and was not put off by other firefox “controversies” but this one is making it where it is not simply a browser anymore. which is what I want.

That is such a hard question. Youtube is my throwaway repacement type of watch. The thing in the background while I do other things. I mean there are creators who I always like their fare and catching colbert and the occasional snl and last week tonight is nice. Im sure there have been some that at the time I was like. omg. this is hilarious, and I go call my wife over. Thing is its sorta flash in the pants and then I forget.

im lazy. I use zorin. Its pros are its easy, stable, and out of box. But its pros can be looked as cons. Well maybe not the easy part but its stable because it uses ubuntu lts which means its not using the latest linux kernel stuff. Then out of box can be looked at as great I have any program I need installed right away or it can be looked at as a bunch of bloat. Either way another thing is its not a gaming distro. If gaming is your thing then either use a gaming distro or you will likely want to dual boot one. Speaking of dual boot I recomend not dual booting windows. If you have an older laptop you upgraded from in the last few years then throw linux on the old one and be amazed at how well it runs and how your older machine seems better than your newer one.

I dunno. Maybe people are more honest and real. I have a story from my youth. A friend and I put in singles ads in the local paper. Whelp I tend to be a pretty honest and straight forward person so my ad said things like I don’t really excersise but I like doing active things like walking. With his he was putting his best foot forward which to be honest, to me, was pretty much B Sing. So I got a response and he did not and his response was like. How did you get a response. Your add is like hey im fat and lazy. Now that is certainly not what my ad said but to his mind it was. To admit any basic human frailty was to be the worst possible interpretation anyone can make of it. Basically maga level. Of course I think @hades@feddit.uk has a point that people who are catches, good looks and/or great personality and such, likely have an easier time finding relationships

Its more why don’t I use osx anymore and why did I use windows so long. After osx came out in the new millenium and when the apple warranty was tops I was a total mac person. And yes because it was something that just works out of the box and with the warranty you did not need to worry about anything for at least 3 years. This made the extra cost worth it. It was more out of the box than windows because you could, for example, burn a disc right out of the box. I stopped doing macs when they blamed their magentic cable sheaths coming off as from use and would not cover it (at one point you could come in with a mac with a cracked screen and they would not blink and get it replaced for ya. no questions asked. Although not specifically spelled out it effectively was an accident warranty to.) So with the warranty not being any better than a windows machine the extra cost was no longer worth it. Concurrently mac went down this simplicity path (the iphonification of macs) wereas previous to that they use to extol their power and greater number of ports. Basically my last mac was the last version of the mac book pro that had a dvi slot and lots of ports in general and was large and powerful. Now linux at that point had gotten much better than it used to be in the first decade of the millenium, but yeah. It was not exactly out of box. Zorin os had just started but again was not quite there. In addition much of my work things were windows and I had this sweet solution for computer support with my wife where I got thre laptops that were cheap in a bang for the buck way and it was a nice solution for tech support for my wife. So I was on windows. Also portable apps made windows really easy to update and migrate hosts. Eventually my wife wanted to much of gaming machines to the point we got her a desktop so my tech solution was sorta out the window but there was work and the portable apps thing (I at one point voted for portable apps as the best open source enabler). Zorin had gotten much better (out of box linux distro) and I was aware of it and played with it (along with other things like puppy) but inertia won out. Then windows 11 came along and it was a no go. Especially when I was already aware of a linux distro that was as out of the box as osx and maybe a bit better really (which keep in mind was more out of the box than windows). So I finally said enough is enough and installed zorin on my old laptop. What sucks is app image is so close to what portable apps brings and it has some related projects that have the components of it but just is not packaged nicely all together in a one and done.

I mean I can’t remember specific occasions but yeah im sure dicks and assholes have helped me. They can still be dickish or such when helping but sometimes its their job or they begrudgingly do it and like your experience sometimes in certain situations they can do things without being dicks for awhile. It does not make them in general nicer persons but does show they have the capacity if they felt like being nicer in general.

a few years in my thirties was my best time of life. Was able to afford living near the city which was also near my work. I don’t think that has to do with age though as much as stable employment.

I like rpg’s where you have a lot of options for character or team customization.

When it comes to armed conflict your going to have to go to things like pbs or bbc to get that kind of perspective. Social media is going to be a bit more crass.
