What made you choose your Fediverse Instance?
Why did you choose your Fediverse Instance, does it have a bigger meaning than it was a bigger instance or was it for a certain reason? Did you have to be on your instance you chose?

lemmy.zip has so far been chill. Lemmy world is in practice run by a small group of overbearing mods that remove posts they personally don’t like as opposed to just letting the community decide, even when no community rules have been broken. They also defederate and block other instances aggressively. I don’t like my instance to censor things I want access to.
So what makes lemmy.zip better than running your own instance? I know there’s plenty of benefits for people joining things like Lemmy World if you want a very restricted environment but what does lemmy.zip have over running your own instance?
I don’t want to run my own instance. That requires time and money.
