Definitely a very different experience than being trans as a human. Most dergs indeed don’t express gender very much. If they don’t interact with humans at all they probably would not do any kind of voice training, as vocal range doesn’t differ between genders. Though they might train their voice if they interact with humans and wish to be perceived in a specific way by humans. Though this would also be the case for cisgender dergs who wish to interact with humans since vocal ranges don’t differ between sexes in dragons, at least noticably.
That does mean that a cis female dragon would indeed need to voice train to sound feminine, or a cis male to sound masculine to humans depending on what baseline their species’ voices are.
Though there are definitely also dergs who just won’t bother and speak using their natural voice.
