Glad to hear you’re liking Chrono Ark! I think it’s an absolute banger and a must play for roguelike deckbuilder fans. I still need to finish it up by getting to 100% and getting the true ending.

Rise of the Ronin has really hooked me. I don’t know what it is about it or if it is just that I was craving some open world slop, but it’s hitting all the right spots in my brain currently. I think the Team Ninja special sauce in the combat helps keep me interested - there is quite a lot of depth and opportunity to optimise and style on your enemies and it also feels very rewarding doing so. Getting into a fast flow where you’re constantly swapping styles and weapons to use martial art techniques while weaving in parries gets really frenetic and fun.

Overall for my tastes it feels like a better version of Ghost or Tsushima. Now don’t get me wrong: I’m not arguing objectivity here. Tsushima looks better, has better presentation and is way better optimised. I’m just having more fun with Ronin than I did with Ghost.

It also helps to have some more charm and levity among the characters and writing instead of every single thing being delivered in a dour and serious monotone like in GoT.

I played Resident Evil Requiem. I really liked it, especially Grace’s sections. Leon’s sections weren’t really my favourite, but they were enjoyable enough.

I ended up replaying halfway through the remake of the first game too after Requiem, although now I kinda want to go back and replay 9.

I finished my Baldur’s Gate 3 run with an all-fighters party. In the end, the Act 1 fight against Flind and the gnolls was the hardest, because I was still level 3 when I did it. The rest of the game was pretty uneventful, as nothing really posed any challenge.

Action Surge and (Improved) Extra Attack are so strong, that most enemies die in the first turn or something, which usually just leaves the boss, who doesn’t survive for much longer afterward.

I actually started a new run pretty much immediately after. My previous ones were still pretty normal Honor Mode playthroughs (using UI and “QoL” mods), this time I decided to just use a bunch more mods to change up the game and mess around. I’m running around with an increased party size, up to level 20, custom items, custom and more enemies, stuff like that.

While I want to basically just steamroll through stuff, some of the custom items are definitely too strong. I’ll probably stop using some of the stronger ones and look into buffing enemies even more.

Still on Baldurs Gate 3, but this is my second run and the first time as Durge. Made some different choices, recruited different companions, and it’s crazy how different it feels.

I thought I was going to be satisfied with two playthroughs but I’m already planning my third

Last week DrainSim released into early access and I’ve put just over 10 hours into it… it’s a game where you unflood areas around a small town and it’s soooo satisfying. Watching the water level slowly drop is a tangible way to see your progress and some levels require digging to redirect flow out of the way which is fun. It has a fair bit of jank, but the water simulation makes me happy and the developer is constantly releasing updates with fixes

Plus it’s perfect for podcasts or youtube in the corner!

I’ll eventually get StS2, it looks awesome and I loved the first but I’ll probably wait for the release
