I’m curious to know what kind of hoops people have to jump through to verify their age to watch porn?

I mean, how is age verified without identity verification and/or risk of privacy breaches? Do phones or emails get notifications or alerts? Do you have to do it each and every time et al?

I supposed I’m puzzled as to why anyone would risk watching porn if an app or entity is out there ‘verifying’ something, and (presumably) these things can be exploited or hacked.

I’m also assuming (hoping) that there are some hackers out there who are working on a workaround or add on.

thanks

Use a fake ID. Yeah I said it. No one else is willing to come out and say it, if you really want access you should use a fake ID. The regulators who put this through are banking on the idea people will be against or afraid to use fake IDs and we should stay ahead of them no matter what the service they are trying to gatekeep.

Ngl I’d sooner subject myself to those sketchy ass “Free VPNs” than submit my ID to these companies.
The sketchy VPNs are definitely selling my data, but at least they don’t have a copy of my ID with my full legal name and my goddamn picture to leak to the dark web

Yeah one time I got a pop up asking me to confirm I was over 18. I had to click yes. It was a tough time for me but I made it through.

    Proton VPN.

I use the paid version, but I’m pretty sure you can get a free version without data caps.

It lets you set the location of your VPN endpoint, meaning that you can spoof your location to just about any country on the globe. Very easy and intuitive interface, works on mobile, and no I don’t work for these motherfuckers, I’m just excited to share my experience because I only recently decided to start using a VPN.

Other options, according to Google: PrivadoVPN (10GB/month), Windscribe (10GB/month), and Hide.me

I bail or use VPN fir anything asking for that kind of verification, porn or otherwise.

Never give your ID or any other info to age or identity verification sites whether it’s porn, sex education, social media, dating sites, or any of the sites that are starting to require it. 99.999999999999999999% chance it will get mishandled and leaked. The promise to delete the data immediately after verifying, but all the leaks have proven they or their contractors don’t actually do it.

It asked in Australia so I copied the link into a stream ripper site and used their preview mode. I’m not a big porn guy but I am a big fuck your rules guy.

My state is one that has recently adopted age verification requirements. Adult sites seem to be complying through IP geolocation, requiring users in my state to establish accounts. I think they are requiring a credit/debit card on file as evidence of age, but I cannot say that with any certainty.

VPN servers in less-oppressive jurisdictions bypass the account-creation requirement.

Since this is a piracy community, you should know that the best websites for anything don’t adhere to these types of laws. I’m always surprised by the number of people who don’t bother to look beyond the mainstream options (wikis exist for a reason) and either cave to whatever is being enforced or desperately look for ways to circumvent it. You don’t have to play that game at all.

    My state requires age identification.

Non-US owned/friendly porn sites (xvids) simply work like normal. They don’t care.

The big US name site (ph) blocks the whole site and show a video saying that age verification sucks so they’ll just block the whole states’ users. VPN bypasses easily.

Not sure how other sites handle. I just checked those 2. I’m not a big pron guy tbh.

I just bail on any site that requires age verification. It sucks, but there are still some that work. I do hear that using a VPN can often help.

I just used a VPN, and when that stops working I’ll either lie to their selfie age ID thing with a video or I’ll find a site that doesn’t age verify.

Nope. Even if the government (Brazil) controlling my homeland is one of those shitting “think on the children! [because we don’t]” laws.

I don’t know if this is related to my browser reporting my geolocation as NZ, and the default page language being Italian, it’s possible bad design is helping me out.
