I got my shingles vaccines done last year because I saw how devastating shingles was when my mother-in-law got it. Yes, the shingles vax side effects can be brutal (they were for me), but a few days of suffering are a small price to pay.
What side effects are there?
For me it was fever, ache and pains including strong joint pain, skin sensitivity, inflammation of the lymph nodes found in the arm put area (also very tender to the touch) and severe headache.

Two days of awful. Four total not feeling right.
EDIT: FYI. You need to multiply that by two because you have to take the shot twice.
