For the past month a variety of lem.cochrun.xyz accounts have been spamming religious posts (all linking to christianpicturesblog.blogspot.ca) to a variety of unrelated Lemmy communities. Unless @forgetstoshave@lem.cochrun.xyz has an alternative explanation, the posts are likely all from one or a select few lem.cochrun.xyz users seeking to evangelize their beliefs across the Threadiverse, using sock puppet accounts to evade bans.
While they are welcome to post to relevant communities (just as other users are free to block those communities), spamming such content on unrelated communities is unacceptable. While use of the Threadiverse should be encouraged, spam only serves to push new users away, and thus should be handled via the defederation of lem.cochrun.xyz should it continue.
It’s true, the only evangelizing I want to see on my feed is converting to Linux.
All hail the God Turtle.
Don’t care, I see a tortoise I upvote
I misread that as “Trust Turtle God GIF”, and was confused by the downvotes.
Weird. I hadn’t seen this at all until after I saw your post and scrolled down a bit further.

Reported. Hopefully lemmy.world mods do something about this.
If they don’t know that they’re committing a mortal sin by spamming other communities, I say let them. When they get to the pearly gate and ol’ Pete is like no guys y’all punched a ticket for downstairs, they’ll know they fucked up.
Well, we’re all seen as a bunch of heathens, so I guess this sort of thing is inevitable. Not cool, but inevitable.
Yeah, definitely bots. A different one (an account called ‘nobody’) on that instance posted one to a community called Religious fruitcake.
its kinda funny hahaha Give me snakes and let me roll around on the floor … lalalallalalallalalabalallalala
More Lemmy Evangelists??? I have competition…

I mean, replace religion with communism/anarchism/whatever stupid -ism, and that’s like half the people here.
But also, any time you see anything “blogspot [dot] com” here, it’s 99.9999% always blogspam so I just report and block.
I know you’re on a personal vendetta against the left and “identity politics” (whatever right wing drivel that term means), but that content is within the appropriate communities.
The users OP is talking about are posting in unrelated comms, and as such is not comparable.
Ironically what you’re doing here is more like what the complaint is.
Tbf a lot of it ends up in !comics@lemmy.world for some reason
They’re just posting slop unfortunately. Actual humans wanting to have a discussion are welcome here
