The all feed on YouTube is completely useless now, so for those that only use the subscribed tab, what’s your favourite channels?
I’m liking the PBS channels, Ryan Georg and pitch meeting, stuff made here, animagraffs, map men, practical engineering, tasting history, and couple of more but kinda similar theme.
Lots of great things here, excited to check them out. Two I didn’t see mentioned, probably because the Lemmy/car-person demos don’t overlap a whole lot.
Sarahntuned - restoring old cars with wit and humility. Does new car reviews to pay the bills in an entertaining and informative style that makes it interesting even if you’re not shopping for a car.
Low Buck Garage - having fun fixing up old cars and other machinery in oddball ways. Funny guy you wish was your bffs dad.
Couple others since I’m here:
Alton Brown Cooks Food - Good Eats but Alton is old. And the editor commentary adds levity.
Fall of Civilizations - And the companion podcast (same content, no video). Brilliant explorations of the downfall of ancient civilizations. Cathartic in these troubling times to imagine how insignificant a human life is, and how vast human civilization has already been.
Project Farm - Consumer Reports but actually independent. Don’t buy another tool without first searching “project farm <<tool name>>”.
Hermitcraft is usually good, PBS eons, TeirZoo, independent news (of the liberal/leftist variety), Overly sarcastic productions, Historia Civilis, inequality media, CGP Grey are all good stuff. I also enjoy Civvie11, YatzeeCroshaw, ERB, and a bunch of folks who mostly post shorts.
Oh, and if you are into Minecraft stuff, I’m trying to get back into content production myself. Same username.
TTRPG play:
Final Show Films (smaller, really dedicated crew. Old friends playing WoD games, like Vampire, Werewolf, etc. and some DnD. LGBT+ friendly if that matters to you)
Apocalypse Players (a crew of professional British actors playing Call of Cthulhu)
Push the Roll (shorter scenarios played based off the titles suggested by viewers, run by Ross Bryant, an incredible improv actor)
