minus-squareslimerancher@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up46arrow-down1·8 hours agoIsn’t this common? From what I know water damage isn’t covered under warranty by anyone.
minus-squareLumidaub@feddit.orglinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up48·8 hours agoThe title here seems misleading, in Nintendo’s favour. Apparently Nintendo claims there is water damage to get around a repair.
minus-squarePineRune@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up28arrow-down2·edit-28 hours ago Sorry, it’s water damage Nintendo, when you ask for a warranty repair that definitely isn’t water damage.
minus-squarejordanlund@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up15·8 hours agoNintendo has a history of BS repair refusals. I had an LCD failure on a GBA, they said it was dropped when it wasn’t and I found photo evidence of a retail unit with the same size and shape failure. They did fix it, but it was like pulling teeth.

It sounds like the water indicator stickers did not change color. But they said that water can still get in / water damage can occur regardless. I also asked for a picture and they flatly refused that they don’t do that. – https://www.reddit.com/r/consolerepair/comments/1lugq83/bricked_switch_2_nintendo_claiming_water_damage/n1y1kga/
minus-squarechingadera@lemmy.worldlinkfedilinkEnglisharrow-up6·6 hours agoLol they’ll also say the same in humid environments when there is no water damage, but the humidity has changed the stickers.
