If you self-host it, you´re actually more open to lesser vector of attack, since I really doubt you will go into building robust security solutions with your personal IP. That includes local law enforcement or criminal elements just taking your server.

There are no asia-based email services of comparison to the european private ones unfortunately. Fast mail but that’s 5-eyes.
