I made this Linux Mint logo emblem to cover up the Apple logo on my old MacBook that now runs Linux. I am not sure if it will cover the logo of all MacBooks but i am sure that it can be scaled to needs.
I used Prusa Slicer, to slice it, and it automatically offered the option of a color change. I used a translucent red for the lower part and a dark grey for the top. You may want to experiment a bit with the types and infills to get the appropriate effect. I used very fine layer hight as well as ironing to get a smoother surface.
Then simply glued it on top of the illuminated logo
Available for free on Thingiverse and Printables
PS: Many failed attempts went into take this fairly bad picture - i apologize but the dogs were too comfortable

Nice mod! I have a 250ft neon sign that says Arch on my laptop.
You forgot to say btw
I’ve saved to my things verse collection and will print in green for my XPS later today
That’s so cool! I don’t have a laptop or a working 3d printer, so I guess this doesn’t really apply to me, but good for you!
That’s pretty great! We have a 2008 macbook that could probably use a similar treatment. Probably still wouldn’t be able to handle h265 video though…
Yeah mine struggles with videos too and it’s from 2011. Still good for browsing though
Totally. We use ours for tv, it handles h264 without issue still. Though I do have to set our file server to still support SMBv1.
What kind of glue?
The one that I had in my junk drawer 😜 I think it is some sort of contact adhesive. Honestly though, I don’t know if it is the right choice. I was going for a hold that was strong, but maybe also breakable if I wanted to replace it. This is why i didn’t use super glue or two component stuff.
That said, it’s only been there for a few hours, so this may also be a thing you’d need to adjust to your needs
Nice! I wish they sold workstations with Mint already installed to help folks get into Linux.
I agree. It really is very easy to install though …!
Great idea - thanks for sharing!
Slick!
Looks cool!!!
