Did steam actually drop the price point yet or are they just speculating? If it’s the later than the title is rather misleading.

only things valve employees said about prices is:
- they are targetting a lower price for the frame than the index (index was 1000$ afaik)
- the machine will be priced as a pc and not as a console (whatever that means)
- prices will be announced closer to launch.
Why does everyone keep saying Index was $1000. That’s just blatantly wrong. It’s like $500. It was only the set that includes 2 controllers and 2 base stations that costs $1000. But you can order each part separately.
The Frame won’t have base stations, and it’s unlikely that the Frame controllers will cost $300, since they don’t seem as advanced as the Index controllers (at least in regards to the hand presence tech).
And since there are dozens of us that already have those I’d expect that you can buy the Frame w/o controllers too.the machine will be priced as a pc and not as a console (whatever that means)

Which is a bummer imo, since I don’t think people already considering a lower midrange PC today are the target demographic, but I would love to be proven wrong.

It’s the 240th episode of DF Direct Weekly. I don’t think they have to explain the format at this point any longer.
Does it not come to you that someone might have never even heard of DF?
One person in the thumbnail seems vaguely familiar, and now they are associated with an immediately untrustworthy statement, bravo for that I suppose.
Well, they’d probably find out by watching the video. Or they’d move on and enjoy the rest of their day/night, it’s really all up to them.

These few people can just watch a few minutes of the video and get the gist of it.
Or we can all just assume that since Steam hasn’t released the price these guys are just misleading people for views and put them on our permanently do not watch list. Couple that with someone being smarmy about the content rather than talking to people and it seems like something I wouldn’t personally enjoy.
Well, Valve just dropped prices for everything… Can’t wait to see how everyone reacts.
