Totally understandable, beauty being in the eye of the beholder and all. I appreciate the response, thank you

Interesting, this happened to be one of my favorite looks for windows. It came across as comfortable and professional without looking like plastic or feeling sterile. A comfy medium between dark and light mode, and the glass window decorations were a nice little touch. If you don’t mind me asking, what was it that you didn’t like? Not looking for beef, just perspective.
Lmao, I think you and I share the same opinions on a lot of those things. I’m a very simple person, all those extra frills are wasted on me
Thank you, that makes a lot of sense. I think my misunderstanding comes from being a kbm gamer and just not experiencing games that took proper advantage of those features. I kind of just assumed we were talking about the same rumble from a PS2 or 360 controller. I hadn’t realized it’s become so much more advanced.
I appreciate the feedback! I’m primarily a kbm player, and I don’t really play any racing games so I see how I totally would have missed that. Thank you for your response homie!
Honest question, is vibration that important of a feature in your opinion? I don’t think I notice it all too much whether it’s there or not, so I don’t really have much of a preference and wouldn’t consider this a deal breaker. I didn’t realize people felt strongly about it. Is it an immersion thing?
When it comes to how I’m feeling? Sure, often even
It’s a real shame that we can’t just tell those sites what we want to see, or not see for that matter. Instead were victims of AI/THE ALMIGHTY ALGORITHM. I think that’s part of the plan though, keep us on their site searching for content we actually want instead of finding it and being done. I’m dying for a YouTube replacement to come about. I’ll enjoy that until the inevitable enshittification comes about.
As dumb as this is probably going to sound, you’re most likely getting those recommendations because you reported them. YouTube sees that as an interaction and that’s what they’re chasing after. Same for giving videos a thumbs down.
This is what I’ve been chasing for a while. Bspwm like tiling with a unity like interface for the status bar, dock, system management, etc. I’ve been debating trying this through xfce or kde but havent had the spoons to give it a go
I’m personally all for it. I’ve never used tiktok before and never plan to, but I can see the negative impact it has on my peers. I can’t hang out with my friends without it turning into them just showing their favorite clips to each other. It’s just bad for people and relies of maxing out the happy brain chemical thing to keep people there. It’s like penny slots at the casino. There’s also the data harvesting for the Chinese government through tencent (who is also very heavily involved with epic games and reddit to name a couple others). If I’m remembering right, when the “head” of tiktok was testifying before Congress, he outright said he’s doing nothing different from Facebook or Twitter, and he’s right.
Yes!! That’s the other thing, why is YouTube constantly recommending videos I’ve already watched? I get it all the time where videos I’ve literally watched the day before are being recommended to me. Even more so for videos I’ve watched the week prior. The other thing that’s been annoying the shit out of me is that YouTube is so desperate to send me down political rabbit holes. My political leanings must be a mystery to them since I like liberal stand up comedy, gaming, Linux, and guns, so I’m getting hit with political garbage from both sides. Can I please just have an option to tell YouTube what I want instead of it poorly guessing? Oh wait, that’s the search function, which doesn’t work
I went through and cleared all of my old watch history, search history, everything from YouTube. It immediately started recommending the same things I’ve already watched. It continues to recommend seven year old videos regularly. Videos I know it knows I’ve watched already since it clearly didn’t erase any of my history like I asked. The shorts shit is awful. It’s even worse if you tell YouTube not to track you, it freaks out and only plays the same shorts over and over
I’m so tired of searching for something specific, getting two or three results relevant to my search, then it just goes into my subscriptions and other recommended channels. I’m really really hoping a new video site comes up soon to replace YouTube. You can’t even use YouTube as a video host anymore. I tried uploading some gameplay of me and my friends fucking around. Had music in the background. I put the video as unlisted, marked it as mature, I’m not a partner or anything that would get me paid, and YouTube refused to allow me to upload it without first muting the music parts. All I wanted was an easy way to share a personal video with my friends, but no, YouTube needs to make money off of every little thing that gets uploaded so I end up fucked even though I have no intentions of making “content”.
Is this satire? Maps help people find places, that’s the concern?
Lmao I’m in the same boat. Accidentally fell down the ricing rabbit hole, lived out of tiling window managers for a bit, and now I’m in gnome since it finally seems to be on par with my rose tinted memories of unity. I appreciate the reply, different strokes for different folks. If you don’t mind me asking, what sort of aesthetic do you go for with your Linux config? Is it more of a matte, or something different?
