My tv and eating habits since 2020 have only been getting better by these changes. Once every streaming service no longer allows password sharing we will be done with TV. So many of their platforms are incredibly awful to navigate anyways.

Meanwhile all the schools in my area are polling places so kids don’t have school.
This isn’t something new or unique. Up until 2015ish whenever people referenced 10 years ago people would think it was referring to the 90’s. It’s a perception of time thing. Eventually the same will happen when we are out of the 20’s they’ll think 2020 was eons ago.
It’s works most of them time unless you’re in a specialty trade making spindle, gears, and such that must be threaded backwards to avoid the wheel undoing itself.
Firefox isn’t far behind now. They just announced ads are coming and they know their platform is used heavily with ad blocking extensions so they’ll cut it
The hardest part to combat is laziness. Amazon is a one stop shop. Personally I don’t care to shop online much anymore but when I do I’m always using direct websites for the companies since I know what I’m looking for.
Also something scary to think about, They could lose most of their customers and still thrive because of how much money they have already pulled in.
Here’s a really horrifying fact about ads, they don’t expect you to go right out and buy their product. Ads target your subconscious and manipulate your way of thinking. There was a study done by some university and tested by a few people across different fields of study that proved this to be correct. I wish I could remember off the top of my head where this was published. If you do a little browsing you can probably find it and you should because you can’t trust a stranger like me to properly relay the information.
I just got accepted into the beta for walkscapes. It’s such a relaxing game and using steps vs distance is super nice to have as a tracking system.
As someone who does a lot of DIY what are my options? I can’t learn from reading and have nobody to show me how in person. Other platforms are so incredibly limited I can’t ever find any content helping me learn something. What other platform is seeking to ACTUALLY compete with YouTube by offering fair compensation and exposure to the masses? It’s so incredibly expensive to try that nobody is.
Front right is wallet and keys front right mini pocket is pixel buds, milwaukee fastback, and file cabinet key. Front left is just my phone. Back right is work badge. Back left is typically where I collect receipts without realizing it. I also have a pen pocket by my right knee which always has a pen
The issue is with the information. Like the one above us said they want to be notified that their ride has arrived but to allow that notification you have be willing to accept advertisements as well.
It’s the reason a majority of people just straight up kill notifications. Way to many useless ones to justify the 1 in 8 that you want.
I just picked up AC valhalla after 3 years of not touching it due to the stupidity of the game. There really isn’t anything stealthy or assassin like except the mini quests that max out the difficulty settings that can’t be adjusted and since you don’t really play stealth having these sections turned to max made me say it’s not worth the effort. I play on the easiest setting so that I can enjoy a relaxing experience and feel like I’m progressing with my insanely small amount of time I have I don’t wanna be replaying levels 15 times in a row.
And I know what everyone is gonna say and while I agree it’s a series I use to love even well after it got terrible. I’m just doing me in my own world not interested in all the multi-player games out there.
Just had a conversation with my buddy who does security and hes adamant the only reason prices are going up is because of theft. I asked what came first the jump in thefts or the price gouging to which his tuned swapped to “They gotta pay to get these locked shelves and they keep reducing security head count” which of course I had to explain that the one time purchase of the cabinet is immensely cheaper than head count so based off that the prices should actually be dropping by installing them.
Phones have honestly flat lined. Back in 2011 me and my buddy were heavily into phones upgrading what felt like every few months to try the latest and greatest new features. Nowadays you get a marginally bigger optimized battery, upgraded camera, and a mildly upgraded screen, however you pay significantly more. The only people I know who upgrade on schedule are iPhone users. I’m upgrading every 5-7 years now and my next phones probably gonna be whatever I can get cheap enough
I can say that for myself it’s not really just the price. I don’t have space to put a computer. With a console I can hook it to the TV and tuck it up under it. When I wanna play I can grab just the controller and sit on the couch. I like simplicity. With a pc I need a mouse, keyboard, desk, a chair, speakers, and a monitor. I know it can be hooked up to a tv however the tower still stands as an issue. The smaller compact towers that can be tucked have limited capabilities that rest below consoles.
On top of all that PCs are regularly getting releases years after a games release. PC gaming is only superior if the things going to be entirely utilized by the person and for some reason a lot of PC gamers think the average person will be doing so when that’s simply not the case.
Ever since smartphones exploded the expectation to respond IMMEDIATELY is out of control. Anyone who gets my number I warn them they’ll be left on read for days if not weeks at a time. If it’s important I’ll respond but otherwise it’s whenever I get time to decompress and respond. I’ve got a buddy who I love we respond to each other every other week mostly. We will even have calls in between. People really get entitled to others time and it’s insane.
I know someone’s gonna say it but no the entitlement wasn’t even remotely as bad with the older phones. Smartphones began putting pressure to respond because it was easier and then they introduced the “seen” option followed by the “typing” option.
I’ll be open and honest knowing whenever bringing the subject up generates anger. “Normies” aren’t gonna join somewhere where 99% of the conversations revolve around using Linux. Jump into any thread and someone’s talking about it. Doesn’t even need to be a tech thread. As soon as someone goes against the grain immediate backlash. It’s not welcoming at all.
I’d much rather people focus on the road when they’re behind the wheel, thanks.
So phones are illegal but not this? What in the actual fuck is going on right now. We are being forced so many damn ads it’s nearly impossible to get away from them. Now I need to worry about someone trying to hit skip instead of focusing on driving. As a motorcyclist I’m now even more terrified. Half the drivers now already don’t look up from their phones…
Someone secretly took a photo of someone else because they didn’t like the shirt and sent it to so many people not realizing they all liked the person and immediately told them. He had HR involved within minutes and she was fired. All of that happened in about 20 minutes of the photo being taken. There is a strict policy on photos of other people at work that has its own training we all do annually.
For those wondering about the shirt
