No, you have to decide what is right for you and he has to respect it - and vice versa of course. This is essential to be able to give enthusiastic consent! If your mutual needs don’t align it’s also ok to not have sex

22·5 months agoIf you properly understand something you should be able to explain it precisely to a lay person using straightforward language. Depending on the level of detail, it may take awhile, but nothing need be lost. Jargon is a useful shorthand to accelerate communication between experts, all to often employed to buttress the position of the insecure or gatekeepers

2·6 months agoYou can’t do that anymore alas (except with the clan Nova) - you’re limited by the number of weapon mounts and heat management is now easier…

5·6 months agoPlay with keyboard and mouse - makes hitting things much easier. Redesign all mechs to have max armour. For most of the campaign bringing as many SRMs to the field as possible is good. Focus fire with your lance mates - makes them much more effective. Remove JJ - useless. LBX10s are great. Remove useless single LRM 5s and 10s from most things - put a lot of lrms on mechs with good quirks - Archer, Longbow. Keep moving, ideally always at least 45 degrees to your target

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•What do you think about the concept of lesser evil? (i.e. when faced with selecting from two immoral options, the less immoral one should be chosen.)English
81·8 months agoObviously true? In real life I’ve found it’s often worth doing a bit of thinking / effort to find a third option though. Not always possible though - like when voting - though I don’t think picking the least worst (imho) option when it comes to political representation is immoral
I’m sorry to say that I think you’re stuck while the father is being so useless. If his view is that his daughters role in life is to moon about until some guy comes along to take care of her, and she is also of the same view, then I think the best you can do is to be supportive of anything that gets her out of the house (including useless studies) and exposed to more of the world and different world views. Hopefully she’ll come to her senses and husband can then support her in her new choices. You have the sympathy of a random internet stranger.
Father of a daughter here. I think your husbands position is deplorable. I want the best for my daughter, and education gives her choices. It sets her up to be self reliant. If she chooses to go trad wife (can’t see it) then that’s her look out, but at least she’ll be to change her mind if she wants to. It’s much harder work to get these choices back in later life - get them now!
Exactly - loading all your need for companionship, relationships and love onto a single person and relationship (and type of relationship) is guaranteed to cause disappointment- it’s too much for person. I’ve been happily married for years, and key to that is other friends, companions and family.
This is a good expansion on that idea. The Four Loves
The principle of least action - one of my favourites
This meme shows a complete misunderstanding of patent law. A patent is a social contract that allows for a limited amount of protection for an invention being copied (usually 20 years) in exchange for it becoming public domain after that. This enables people to make a living inventing things. Are games played with the system, sure, does it work perfectly- no, but it’s better than the alternatives. (Source, am inventor)

Also Onlyfans economics follows a power law - so like 5 of the models will be wildly popular and making a fortune, most won’t. Like bands, actors and similar.
