So, look AI sucks, but busywork like this might do ok at “a quick guide to python”.

6·1 month agoHad a Nissan Leaf few years. Never needed a 240v. On the standard 120v charger it gained about 5 miles every hour it was plugged in. Most every day it was in my driveway for 12+ hours so even when it was super close to dead, after dinner and sleeping it’d be up to 60ish miles of charge. My commute was 22 miles round trip, so it was almost always fully charged in the AM, and I was able (but it was a pita to run the cable) to charge it at my office on 120v as well in case it was ever a real problem.

82·1 month agoMy phone background is a photo of my wife hiding behind the bed while scarfing down cookies so the kids don’t see her. Her contact photo is nearly as silly. She’s hot enough that I don’t need to get all turned on every time I see her text.

10·1 month agoMy wife is hot as fuck, I have a hard time not attacking her every time I see her. Getting a hard-on every time I see her pic is already a problem, hence the silly pic of her as her contact.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Those of you with bathrooms attached to your bedroom, do you normally keep the door open or closed while you sleep and what's your reasoning?English
4·2 months agoMy master bathroom (attached only to my bedroom) door generally stays open partly because the toilet has its own micro-room with its own door that can stay shut, partly because the dog likes lying on the cool tile, and partly because the HVAC system is more efficient that way.
I also have a bathroom between two rooms. My office and kids’ room share one. The office door stays shut all the time. The kids’ room generally stays open for a little additional light, to reduce accidents because they were sleepily fumbling with the door and because kids are inherently kinda lazy about things like closing doors.

Technology@lemmy.world•The RAM shortage is coming for everything you care aboutEnglish
1·3 months agoI’ve not missed a Veritasium video in a long time 😄. I’m sure that RAM is much easier to produce, but DRR5 is pretty complex still, and is what has been snapped up in whole by these AI companies. I’m actually wondering if we’ll see a resurgence of DDR4 motherboards, as those fabs are likely around still, just likely more idle if used at all.

6·3 months agoI’m fairly certain that spinning up RAM fabs isn’t super quick nor something that doesn’t require the most cutting edge tech.

For reference, I could absolutely take a job in the next couple weeks with a $50k signing bonus where I get to shoot people in the face with impunity, but I also know that the Nuremberg Trials were a thing. Also, I’m not a horrible human.
That’s the old Slashdot model. It does change how echo-y the chambers become when you limit how things get amplified. Those with higher engagement get to push things a lot harder and I’d actually fear the opposite. An Ai model would certainly be able to echo the general feeling of a place and then slowly turn the dial toward a goal, and do it more effectively in that case as it can comment on everything anyway.

I haven’t read the article, and am not a thermo-engineer, but the problem is probably one of too low of a heat for too long. To make lower you generally have to boil water into superheated steam and then can use it to turn a turbine where it loses some heat and we can extract that difference as energy. The hottest parts of the chip are probably still cooler than the steam condensing on the output of a standard steam generator.
