Sort of disappointed that I had to scroll this far…

I’m actually thankful. It’s good to know a little about the bleeding edge of science, and there presumably are people who really do understand it. The fact that I don’t, means that there are smart, passionate people out there doing the work. Not every show needs to cater to the lowest common denominator.

I love watching Spacetime, but also feel like dum-dum-brain after watch. Me no think good enough to watch this show.

Total time for loading is broken up over quite a few meals for me (usually). It also can take a little time extra if you have to do some extra drying on unloading. That said, it’s probably 20 minutes total AND uses less water AND means that I don’t have to do the majority of the work. I love my dishwasher.

Also, have you ever been butt-dialed by someone? 99% of the time you can’t understand a single word, let alone enough to make any semantic sense out of.

I kinda prefer it that way. Leave me the fuck out of this bullshit. I’m not stepping on necks the way Boomers did but I’m also old and tired enough that it’s not going to be me leading the charge for change. I’ll deal with my own PDFs.

I’m mostly in the same boat. If you really want to know my kink-search-history, I really DGAF. The morality is nice to think about but it’s all about your personal morals in a lot of cases.

YOU SHOULD INSTALL LINUX

I’m a HP reseller, but barely ( I might sell a half dozen servers a year as part of larger projects) it’s SO MUCH EASIER to deal with Dell tho. Quality has been good but not great for both for a long time.

Two big ones for me:

1. Don’t fucking call it “desktop”. I accidentally saved some files to my “one drive desktop” and it took forever to figure out where the hell my files went.
2. I work everywhere… my house, office, client locations etc. I’m not always connected to the internet and NEED my files to be local to my laptop or I have to get my phone out and tether a network which is sometimes slow as hell.

One drive can eat a bag of dicks.

Yeah. Salt, ketchup, napkin, drinks… the 1/10th penny pinching at McD has me stopping other places a lot more lately.

Which of those are not “advertising” of one sort or another? Twitter was a dumb idea to start and I still just don’t see any appeal.

FB had my friends (now is a stupid cesspool of echo chamber idiocy.

Insta was photo-based FB Lite.

Fark>Slashdot>Digg>Reddit>Lemmy was/is about community and sharing of ideas and thoughts. Each had its own strengths and weaknesses, but the anonymity gave everyone an equal opportunity to participate.

The early days of Twitter seemed to be 10,000 people yelling in a room and nobody listening. Then celebrities took over and companies followed. Enshittifying it early on in the process.

Hopefully these people get double-fucked. Moreso because they bought a swasticar from President Musk, but also because fuckyou to people who buy stuff just to resell at a higher margin.

Both can be true. I’m reducing my usage of the REALLY BAD social media and trying to make THIS social media better.

I’ve been on Signal for a while now. Have a bunch of groups but iMessage works with everyone.

It’s been a year and a half here on Lemmy. I still spend a lot of time on Reddit, but won’t comment there anymore.

I don’t WANT a Twitter replacement as it’s really only for celebs and idgaf.

I actually see enough value to pay for YT premium (kids complain incessantly about ads).

Friendica doesn’t seem to have an iOS app, and there’s a critical mass issue with wanting to connect with people that I know in real life.

I’m trying to get my Pixelfed feed to be with checking, and trying to be a regular poster, but it’s still REALLY sparse, and none of these offer the endless meme-video-clip scroll that my wife will have to have before switching away from Insta.
