My desktop is too old to run Windows 11.
The Holy Trinity normally refers to onion, celery, and green bell pepper, at least in Cajun cuisine.

I deal with this at one of my jobs. We offer the moon to new customers, but existing customers are constantly getting screwed over. People complain about it constantly, but corporations have no incentive to reduce the amount of money they’re receiving from you, which could open the doors to losing income from every other customer who decides to ask, when they can just roll the dice on whether you decide to go through the hassle of leaving. It’s scummy and I don’t agree with it on a personal level, but the agent you’re talking to has no power to change the system.
Couplehood by Paul Reiser, apparently.
I mean, disability or no, if you make a mess in a public restroom, and you are relatively able-bodied, you have a responsibility to clean up after yourself. Granted, we don’t know the exact nature of the bathroom “destruction”, but I doubt people are hanging up multiple signs about bad smells in a restroom.
The thing that gets me is that calling it a skill feels like a stretch. You need like 4 pieces of information to read an analog clock, most of which can be gleaned from looking at it. Sure, you might not be able to read one instantaneously without practice, but it isn’t exactly calculus.

As I’ve said, I’m not really trying to get into a debate here. I only settled on the phrase “in capitalist power” because “enemies of the West” seemed a little too conspiratorial, but it’s closer to the idea I was going for.

Again, this is not something that I feel strongly enough about to go to bat for, but I’ve watched a couple of videos essays over the years. The argument is essentially that many governments that are called authoritarian have very little in common besides being considered enemies of those in capitalist power. Therefore the government and the media paint them all with the same evil-sounding brush. I think I’ve heard this argument is more valid for the word ‘totalitarian’, but I would need to do more research.

It’s probably because PugJesus got mad at me for claiming that ‘authoritarian’ isn’t a valid political term and exists primarily to lump together fascist and communist regimes. It’s not something I believe(d) particularly strongly, but I’ve heard it multiple times and it feels right, so I parroted it and ended up on this subreddit.

I mean, it’s more of a wish than a threat. I’m sure most of us have walked that line of social media before.
I’ve never seen an Australian do the American thing of assuming the person they’re responding to is from their country before. For most of the English speaking world, higher latitudes = further from the equator.
I don’t know how you could make it clearer than just leaving off the last letter.
Pacific Northwest for me! Potato bugs forever!
He’s referencing a legitimate talking point about birth control, and in that light his comment made perfect sense. The whole second half of this thread reads like you got whooshed and then double downed after you realized what happened.
Did… did you click the link?
Do you think I should switch my program from Engineering to Machining? I’m only a year in and the fact there are 3 years and >$20,000 left is making me rethink things
Most of the “real” memes that get posted are terrible, so I can’t say I mind too much.
