Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Aside from crying, what gives you catharsis?
3·1 month agoI had a neighbor who used a pair of scissors to cut his grass regularly. It wasn’t a big yard, maybe 12ft x 12ft, but he’d be out there all the time kneeling and trimming his grass.
One day I asked why he didn’t just use a mower, and he said it gives him a chance to get some time away from his wife lol
Haven’t thought of that dude in a long time.

Ask Lemmy@lemmy.world•Why do American kids rely on the school cafeteria than bringing their own food?
1421·2 months agoUnfortunately, not all kids that go to school can afford to pay for food. In some cases the meal they get at school is the only one they get.

Asklemmy@lemmy.ml•how did you overcome your existential crisis?
16·2 months agoI read your last post and it hit pretty close to home for me. In 2024, my partner had two strokes. Since then, a few friends and family members have passed away unexpectedly.
To top it all off, a family friend just found out she had brain cancer. The dr said she had 6 weeks to live, unless she did chemo every day for at least 30 days, which would give her another 12-14 months.
I’m leaving my stable job of 22 years (which has slowly been sucking the soul out of me) on Friday and I can’t wait to start a new chapter in my life.
It’s sounds cliche, but life is short. If you’re unhappy you need to make change.
