  • That’s the only one I know that runs on linux well, but it is not popular in most of the games I mod. I would not be able to make huge Skyrim modlists on it. I could string some valheim mods on it, but that’s about it so far. I stayed on windows for so long because I needed not just the games to run, but the mods I spend a lot of time on tinkering as well. I even tried other things like pushing a payload to a Nintendo switch recently and ended up just going back to my windows install where it detected RCM right away (but the linux tools I tried didn’t).

  • the modding scene on linux and how much busywork that took, that just killed a little bit of my soul.

Care to expand on that, I’m not too used to modding games, but from the times I tried it, it’s my understanding that 99% of the times it’s just putting stuff into the right folder. If not how is it different from Windows?

Alright so modding is actually harder on linux and stupid. You should use a mod manager and not manually install your mods so you can uninstall them easier, resolve conflicts easier, manage them, etc. But the mod managers don’t all work on linux natively. So you end up trying to get steam tinker launch working (to use vortex or mo2, but the creator hates modding and will let you know) or using other random things on github (like jackify). I spent way too much time trying to get this stuff to launch and that is before you start actually modding. I ended up doing some distro hopping to get the mod managers to work and ended up on CachyOs.

  • I was actually going to say I hated how misogynistic teachers were at school when it came to any dress code. They hyper focused on what girls were wearing, were their straps too narrow, were their shorts/skirts too high, etc. I have had teachers harass me about my clothes during my entire schooling starting from elementary school. We are drilled into us that our bodies are too revealing, scandalous, and dirty, so we should be ashamed. But then you become an adult and no one really gives a fuck what you wear. The only place that cares is where you end up working, and that can really be anything ranging from a fast food uniform to a suit to whatever you want to wear, etc. I’m not sure what your age is, but schools have made girls feel responsible for how other boys and men feel about their clothes since before social media. It’s our fault for being a “distraction” and ruining the learning environment. I had a male teacher fixate on me at one point, he said he turned his a/c on 24/7 to force all the girls to cover up but when I wouldn’t since I liked the a/c then it became his mission to stop lessons to tell me to cover up aka put a jacket on and make a big deal if I did not have one that day. Your comment reminded me of that teacher, and how much I was slut-shamed because my tank tops revealed my shoulders - gasp!

  • I agree! I was wanting a woman-oriented instance that could host things like ABTF. If I went with piefed it would help with voting being available to subscribers, but I would also like a way to have it hidden from /all. I would like to get it up and running but we’ll see.

Even when I tried Victoria’s Secret, they never had pretty/sexy colors/styles in my “size” (they sized me incorrectly, too small at 34DDD). Even the calculator got me wrong and told me 34FF/F (too big). I ended up being 36E in Panache in certain styles. They are expensive, but I’ve been ordering it online at places that accepts returns to try on, then buy cheaper on places like ebay. I was also a 34G in Chantelle. Have you tried Polish bras? I think they are much more expensive but people on that sub were always bringing up Ewa Michalak. I haven’t tried it since I’ve found some consistency in Panache.

I hate hand-washing btw, I usually throw them in a washing machine with a lingerie bag and air dry them but recently tried hand-washing and fuck that noise. I’m going to try to stick with hand-washing to extend the lifespan but ugh. I also managed to scrub off one of my bras’ label info on accident q.q It was so exhausting. I can’t imagine having to do that every day, so sorry.

  • No one’s mentioned bras and how they are significantly worse? Lets make arbitrary cup and band sizes, but then add in how each bra has a different shape and projection even in the same brand. Are you full on top, full on bottom, average, shallow? What about root width and height? Well you won’t know if any bra will fit until you try, even changing cup and band sizes won’t make a bra not made for your shape fit properly. Each brand does their own different sizing even in each bra, each global country has their own sizing system, and it is madness.

  • “Permanently locked bootloader” means you can’t unlock the bootloader so you can flash a different OS. If you can’t unlock the bootloader, you can’t flash. A lot of phones are like this, like Samsung’s galaxy series. I got really fucked by Samsung with the S10 because of this. You need to buy a specific type of phone and security patch if you want to flash. I went with the Pixel bought unlocked from Google so I could use GrapheneOS. It was very easy to unlock the bootloader and then relock it back. I noticed you said the pixel does not have good reception in your country, I would look more into this before going with it if this is the case.

  • I recommend against Hawaii. It’s not exactly self sustaining since there are too many people living there. Housing/rent is crazy high so there are many homeless. Everything is much more expensive. Jobs can be hard to find. The islands are sinking. Storms still hit every season. Depending on the island, you may be dealing with volcanic eruptions and vog. And I do believe their coral reefs are bleaching. It sounds like a disaster waiting to happen. Then factor in the locals, they only want locals living there and to restore their Hawaiian Kingdom, #GoHomeHaole. Best to pick somewhere else.

  • Nah, I’ve got a zoomer relative that has learned helplessness around computers. They have their own computer for gaming and need me to hold their hand through everything. I tell them to web search, they say they don’t understand what anything means, so I have to hold their hand through web searching to fix their problem. If something doesn’t work from steam when they double click it, they can’t figure it out. They get an error message at any point and their only solution is to bug someone else about it. I refuse to solve their problem without telling them to web search it, that is how you are supposed to learn. It’s super annoying so I started telling them “idk, google it.” They still bug others instead now.

I also have a zoomer friend older than my relative that is also a PC gamer, they are slightly better but still need people to guide them through screen share.
