thats the reason why i always open links with middle click to open a new tab. helps with the above fuckery too.
Cooking is basically water based chemistry, so it makes a lot of sense to use Celsius.
I pirate because i have a digital hoarding issue
i would say Oxygen not included has the largest amount of mods with the most impact of the Klei games - Don’t Starve has some nice mods too though
In that same vein - i just lost the game :-(
somewhat relevant xkcd what-if: https://what-if.xkcd.com/157/
There are no addons at all that can change the look of the firefox extension page; it is protected by the browser.
i have the same issue you have, bright screens are the worst (i hated visiting wikipedia). try this addon in firefox. instead of messing with the colors and the contrast of the page, it rather puts an dark overlay over the entire page, reducing the brightness and preserving the look.

yeah, thats one of the reasons why most tech support hotlines are less than helpful when you are running linux (except basic configuration data) - the amount of different systen configurations, UI’s and versions you can run into is just too big. Windows had at the most 5 different concurrent versions in the wild (Win98/ME/NT/2000/XP was the maximum i encountered in the same timeframe, and the NT’s were occurring once in blue moon)
thanks, I didn’t know anything at all about his daughter (after reading your comment) and found this pretty good article/interview with her.

Thanks man, the ublock filter in the first link works like a charm :-)
even bluetooth has pairing issues to this day lol
but i agree, bluetooth range and reliability has improved tremendously in the last years.
I’ve been a gamer and intensive pc user most of my 45 years of my life, and my experience in the last years regarding input devices:
we cant rule that out yet! maybe someone played CoD on the way down, but the high latency made them ragequit, causing a high-quality, robust controller to be accelerated fiercly, piercing the crappy hull.
It was not the train manufacturer, but a body shop (Swoboda Karosserie- und Stahlbau GesmbH, now Carvatech), which was recruited by the Gletscherbahn Kaprun (GBK) for renovations. It might have not had so large repercussions if anyone of the actors during those renovations had done his job correctly tho:
On top of all that, because the cable cars were made of aluminium, they were deemed inflammable. This did not take into account that any installed equipment or passengers and their luggage might NOT be fireproof.
This lead to: no fire exits, no emergency signage, no training for employees how to react in case of fire. (which might have saved a lot of people: the 12 survivors were the people who went downwards, passing the fire, because they listened to a fireman onboard the cable car.)
it was a single malfunctioning heater, but the Kaprun disaster had many fathers.
I found a nice paper regarding the different actors written by a student of the University of Virginia here, well sourced.
No, but it supports wireless using 2.4ghz with an usb receiver. it does not support a wired connection at all.

Main features: … Continued support for NPAPI plugins like Silverlight, Adobe Flash and Java
Picture this in your minds eye: a Windows 7 machine running a browser with still working Flash and Java plugins, connected to the internet in 2024.
what do you see?
i see a flourishing ecosystem of worms, viruses and rootkits, all trying to be the one species to get to be the one who does the most damage to the prey species, the common user.
Nobara! switched 2 days ago, deleted my Windows partition 3 hours ago because it’s smooth sailing and quite the different experience compared to bashing my head against debian jessie ages ago.
Edit: the final nail in the coffin were the fking backported ads in the start menu. seriously, wtf.
