This is the part that infuriates me. The cops that fucked up will face no repercussions. It’s the tax payers that will foot the bill for this obviously incoming lawsuit and settlement. The solution is clear. Make cops get the equivalent of doctor’s malpractice insurance. Then make the insurance companies pay the settlement. And when the cops insurance payments go up, the cop has to pay. Or stop being a cop because they suck at it. Problem solved.

Achievements basically boil down to “does it matter to me that other people see that I’ve accomplished something” and that only matters “if it matters to other people that my achievements are worth knowing”. It’s essentially trying to generate interest in a game by creating this social competition and of course FOMO. So I guess it’s just social media advertising.

In my case none of this matters. I play mostly single player games because I enjoy them, not because I care what other people think. Having that info in game is sometimes cool if I want to know I’ve finished everything there is to finish.

From a game developers standpoint this data could be useful. Is this part being used? How long does it take? At what part in the game did they accomplish it? That sorta thing. The publishing of that data in a public space is different beast.

Margarine is essentially vegan and a pretty ok substitute. I’ve had vegan butter that was also not terrible. Country crock makes some plant based cream that I actually very much like whipped cream from. My wife makes this stabilized whipped cream (think cream and instant pudding) that is absolutely amazing. Now cheese… that’s a totally different story. It always tastes like plastic to me. And don’t get me started on cream cheese. My wife tried to make a vegan cheese cake once. Let’s just say it didn’t go so well.

My stepson’s family is vegan. My thought is some of it is good, most of it is depressing.

I could probably do vegetarian but no fucking way I’m giving up butter and cheese.
