It might but I wouldn’t. Every weird problem in the future is gonna make you wonder if it’s because of that. Now what I would do is get another hard drive, install to it, and copy things over. But basically leave the original one alone. My 2¢

Well… I guess you’re right … dang. 🤯

Don’t let AI generate recipes. Recipes are generally tried, tweaked a little, tried again, etc until it’s consistently reproducible, and well good. The AI recipes I’ve tried get proportions wrong, skips steps, has stuff cooked in the wrong order, etc. There is no trial and error or iterations.

My wife is slightly older (still Gen X but barely) and she definitely has more boomer qualities than me.

Or more likely they think school still costs $1000 a semester which is what they paid for there kids (me included… since my parents were boomers) to attend college. Not the 80k it cost to send one of my kids through school. Want proof? Go ask any boomer what college costs now.

Human bodies are terrible electrical power sources…even if you harvested all their metabolic heat or chemical energy, you would get far less usable electricity than a comparable mass of conventional fuel or batteries. Much more efficient ways to turn biochemicals or biomass into energy exist.
And to use us as batteries we need food. I would venture to say at least 99% or more of human food production requires sunlight. So just use sunlight for energy. No sunlight because of horrible nuclear winter or something else blocking the sun? Create satellites to collect it and beam it down with microwave lasers.
Anytime you convert a form of energy to another you lose energy. So sunlight->food->human->electricity is not only inefficient but dumb. An AI would never do this. The Wachowskis were writers, not scientists or engineers, and it shows. What would we be good at? The human brain is exceptionally good at massively parallel, low‑power pattern processing: recognizing, predicting, and adapting in complex, noisy environments. This sounds like the exact sorta thing you’d need if you were creating a virtual world. The trick would be getting the interface right. Assuming they had enough time that could be accomplished. So the whole reason the rumor of us being used as processors instead of batteries, is because it makes WAY more sense.

Gen X here…. After arguing and having many disagreements with many many boomers over the years, we are not the same. While I have had similar disagreements with younger generations they are fundamentally different because we are old enough to see the mistakes the boomers made but young enough to see the world is very much different and that rampant capitalism and greed is often the blame. Case in point, student loans. I am all for all education should be free and things like crippling student debt should not be a thing. Every boomer I have talked to still thinks either education should be a privilege or that you should be able to put yourself through college and get a masters working at McDonalds or Walmart.
I’ve used both plaster of Paris and Portland cement. But both have exothermic curing processes so you have to be careful with large cavities. I have also used some of the very low temp alloys for smaller prints with mixed success. Stuff like Field’s Metal, Wood’s Metal, or Rose’s Metal.
Docker, I think. I haven’t touched it in a while since it’s not broke so I’m not 100% sure. I can probably send you the compose file I used.

I love seafile. And if you need access on the main server there is a server-side FUSE filesystem which exposes all libraries at a mount point as a regular directory hierarchy.
Ohhhh … can vs can’t… duh.

I’m not sure that’s possible with multiplayer games, at least the central server part. They could release the central server code as an open source project… that would be very useful. But MMOs need that central communication to even work. I mean I guess you could engineer some sort of peer to peer but I’ve dealt with weird firewall rules in various DCs I’ve had servers located in or god forbid the lack of incoming connectivity in peoples homes. Outbound traffic is usually fairly unrestricted so a publicly available server is the way to go architecturally.

Well if it’s “written off” of their taxes that means it’s taxes they don’t pay which is essentially paid by the rest of us in taxes we do pay. So yeah it should be public domain since we “bought” it.
Because there’s no way to fake the data that determines a photos age?…. or they just refute any chain of custody with regards to any actual photos. The conservatives would just scream fake or AI regardless of the actual truth and that would be the end of it.

I’m curious how you do this because I want to do something similar. Maybe even a dedicated screen near my servers running on a pi or similar.

Going after adguard for something like this seems like removing your nose to cure a cold. I mean WTAF?!?! This is beyond asinine. They have nothing at all to do with any of it. Do they even understand what adguard is?
Oh man… this sounds like something I would do. I feel for you.
