Yeah, I have another one that has a stupid nvidia card that crashes when trying to hibernate sometimes. But that’s nvidia fault, it was not something I would buy, was also forced upon me by another work place. At least it’s consistent since many times it just crashes on boot up too and needs to be forced reboot up to 10 times sometimes.

Nvidia should burn in hell.

sleep and hibernate work fine on linux. I remember the olden days like 15 years ago where nothing of it worked. contrary to the stupid macos that was forced onto me which sleep means nothing and just keeps draining my bluetooth headphones battery anyway instead of turning off when I tell it to.

Most laptops from the last 10 years have soldered components.

And most old computers don’t run or are useful for many current day needs.

If people can buy and reuse refurbished hardware, cool, go for it, but don’t live under the illusion that it’s an alternative.

There are no alternatives, literally everything else is worse.

Framework did something bad. I hope the community keeps the pressure and they consider going back on the stupid decision. But it’s still on top of the list as potential choices if I need a new computer, literally nothing else comes close.

Portugal. When I was a kid in school the concept of Halloween as a party was being pushed onto us from by english lessons so the school had some events related to it, like decorating stuff and creating the vibe a little, but it just isn’t a thing. Nowadays I guess it’s more usual to start seeing a bit more things related to it in a few places, like some cool coffee shop or some special cakes in pastries shops, and some events in the big cities, but I guess that’s it. The biggest things may be advertisement around it and some events outside more focused on kids to play around with the theme. We have in some parts of the country a tradition around the same time which is similar to treat-or-trick, but no dressing up or those kinds of things.
