  • I’ve seen that story before, and it doesn’t answer my question. I don’t think this is an issue teachers can solve by malicious compliance doing the right thing. This is an issue that parents need to solve. Because the bill allows parents to sue (and therefore establish legal precedent), not teachers. If a teacher uses genderless language, as you say, they’ll get fired. But if a parent sues a school for having the words he and she, and wins, it is now an incontrovertible part of the law that he and she are forbidden in Florida schools. This means teachers can no longer be punished for following the law, it means they have to follow the law, and this will have a much bigger impact on headlines due to its wider and firmer scope.

Why hasn’t a parent done this?

  • I’m gonna pull a fucking Multi-Man and duplicate my way across the ocean (thousands of me will drown), and then I’m gonna duplicate my way to Trump and Biden and kill them both. I don’t need weapons, I can out-duplicate any attack and snap my enemy’s neck from behind. I’m going to take out the entire army, senate, and congress. At an exponential rate of growth, it should only take an afternoon. I’ll teach the people how to do anarcho-communism, then commit mass suicide to solve world hunger.

Also, on the same day I’ll read every book in every library in the world. And sign up for every course at every university. I’m gonna build utopia.

  • The reason people are being combative and spewing misinformation while calling me an idiot is that I’m nonbinary. Remember when a woman would put forward a scientific opinion, and every man in the room would contradict her even if she’s right, because women aren’t supposed to do science? It’s the same for nonbinary people. My gender means people can’t take me seriously in a scientific discussion, no matter what right or wrong are. I have to be called an idiot for having an opinion in the first place. What I’m “supposed” to do is say “Thank you for educating me, you smart boys” so they can feel superior. If I pushback, then it’s okay to call me high or stupid for daring to disagree with a man.

The American parties don’t need to spend any effort suppressing third parties, the constitution does that for them. First past the post always leads to two parties.

Suppose Bernie Sanders went independent and campaigned for president, and he got half of the votes that the democratic party would have got otherwise. If that happened, the Republicans could win with as little as 40% of the vote. Even if 60% of people were leftist, if 30% vote democrat and 30% vote bernie, then Trump still wins. It’s always in your best interest to have as few parties on your side as possible, and that means there can only be two parties.

In an instant runoff system, I can vote for the communist party first, the legalise weed party second, and the moderate left party third. If the communists and stoners don’t get enough votes, my votes will still go to the moderates and stop the reactionaries from winning. That means it’s safe for me to vote third party. A luxury Americans don’t have.
