There’s also feeld, easily the most success I’ve ever had on an app, but it is buggy as fuck.

I have encountered maybe 5 people like that ever on dating apps, and I use dating apps a lot.
This stereotype is wildly exaggerated.

memes@lemmy.world•I can’t sleep until I have answers for the intrusive questions
3·1 month agoNah if that ever happens to me I just go back to sleep anyway, then wake up and hour late incredibly tired.
Currently on my way to work 3 hours late because of executive dysfunction.
This is peak Gaben simp meme. Steam were the pioneers of “you don’t own the game, you just own a licence to play it” model which has caused massive amounts of enshittification of the gaming industry. Not to mention all the other bullshit they’ve pushed over the years.
But valve always gets a pass because dumbass games think “lord Gaben” is their best friend because he sells other peoples games for 90% off some times.

Technology@lemmy.world•China to generate 50% of electricity from nuclear and non-fossil sources by 2030English
1·2 months agoThere is nothing to suggest they’re in the tail end of industrialisation
??? What? That’s just a fact?
Like wow look how fast they were about to become the biggest polluter in the world its crazy what you can do with zero environment regulations. But dont worry they will stop now that theyre 40% of global emissions and have raised global temps by 2c.
Do you not understand the concept of scale?
Like yes China has the most emissions (primarily due to be the manufacturing hub of the world) but also has by far the most renewable capacity of any country on earth 3x more than the next highest country and counting for about 40% of the worlds total renewable capacity. And they have achieved that in an astonishing amount of time.
That’s the thing I’m praising, that theyve made such huge progress in such a short amount of time. Compare them to any other large country in the last 10 years and the difference is stark.

1·2 months agoAgain. You don’t seem to understand the comment I’m making.
Are we just suppose to allow every country to do this?
I am not arguing this.
Can india do the same for the next 20 years with no complaints from you?
Nor this.
My country isnt industralized should we get rid of our emission targets.
Nor this.
I’m not saying China isnt polluting or should be allowed to continue polluting or anything of the sort. You’ve literally just made that up out of think air in order to have an argument.
Please learn to read.

1·2 months agoReading comprehension on this website.
They still have to reduce emissions and in the last few years they’ve built tons of renewables.
My point was that their progress so far is actually very impressive considering they are still in the process of industrialisation. It was bit me saying they don’t need to do anything else.

5·2 months agoI mean China is still in the tail end of industrialisation, the fact they’ve come this far in such a short amount of time is astonishing.
They will probably do another when they announce their next project.
Oh man I’m constantly training for something, but also bad at sports lol

11·2 months agoIt’s a pretty simple question and you refusing to answer it just proves you’re not here to argue in good faith and just don’t want to back yourself into a corner that forces you to accept any particular evidence I would give you. As by refusing to state what evidence you would accept you leave yourself the option of arbitrarily refusing anything I present to you.
Which is exactly why I ask. I’ve been on the internet a long time and this is the best method for dealing with bad faith trolls.

Games@lemmy.world•Dutch gamers file €220 million claim against Valve, operator of game platform SteamEnglish
17·2 months agoI know from experience valve coerces developers into participating in their sale events, basically saying there game won’t get promoted on the store or in searches unless they agree to sales.
Which considering they already take a massive 30% cut of developers earnings, is very scummy. Lots of indie Devs that already struggle to make money and already sell their games for super cheap are basically forced to cut their profits even further just to get some visibility on the platform.
